Well this attitude has crept into Gator fandom. Chris Leak has led Florida to an undefeated record beating the likes of TennesseeKentucky, Alabama, and most recently LSU. And what does he get in return from the Gator fans? Booing. That’s right, boos. No one else is to blame but Meyer. It all starts at the top people.
But for some more evidence of this strange behavior, you have to look no further than the comments section of a popular Florida blog. In the midst of a Tebow lovefest, IJ tried to remind the Gators that they have a pretty good starting QB in Leak. A quarterback that does more than run and dress left, and throw lame-alicious jump passes. And what did the Gators have to say? Well, you can see for yourself. Now, not only Meyer, but the entire state of Florida hates Chris Leak.
It all started last year. When Urban Meyer came into the SEC, critics said his system wouldn’t work. But Florida fans, who we all know have been watching football for decades, didn’t listen. So the blame of last year’s miserable performance had to be laid at someone’s feet. Enter Chris Leak. To add fuel to the already combustible situation, Meyer signed All-Universe Tim Tebow. Ever since then, each and every mistake by Leak is magnified and builds onto the hatred that jort-wearers have for the boy. And Leak has handled himself with nothing but class during this state-wide Tebow jerk-off-athon.
