The Marcus Thomas Saga Continues

We here at LWS firmly believe that Urban Meyer will reinstate the Mota Smoking Defensive Tackle in time for the SEC Championship Game. (Related stories click here) Here is the Miami Herald Story:

University of Florida senior defensive tackle Marcus Thomas, who had already been suspended three total games due to failed drug tests, has been kicked off the team.

”Marcus did not meet his responsibilities and obligations to remain on the team,” Florida coach Urban Meyer said in a statement.

The question is how “to reduce the level of acrimony, improve communications, and facilitate a more pleasant outcome” to marijuana disputes. Urban Meyer advises “talking about moving forward into the future.” He says, “The question to ask is, ‘Are you a cheater for yesterday or a cheater for a better tomorrow?’ The choice is yours. … If given the chance, your players will choose doobies, roaches and water bongs over anger, fear of the unknown, and the requirement to play second-tier teams like Vanderbilt and Kentucky”

Meyer added further, “Ever the optimist, I’m looking forward to the day when I do not have to sell my integrity to have considered the issue more closely and carefully, and have come to appreciate the important role that key defensive lineman — especially in big games like LSU and Tennessee — plays in a SEC Championship race.”

Thomas did not make the trip to Nashville, Tenn., for the Gators’ game Saturday against Vanderbilt. (Bet he shows up in Atlanta in December)
