So if gus goes to a major college and is the OC for a natl championship team, and if Williams and Mustain dominate at USC (like they have this entire past year on the scout team), will anyone regret that we let a natl championship group slip through our fingers? it's ok, it's entertainment so we should want to win and have the best players. I'm looked at bad now for being glad Nutt is gone and I looked bad to some of you when i kept crying for matt jones to never play qb and get at the wr position. You know, have a future NFL first round draft pick wr at an unheard of 6'6" running a 4.4 40yrd dash with next to perfect hands and moves. And at the same time to have our former bench warming razorback qb who could've broken hog records with his rocket arm and great speed. The guy who is now an nfl starting qb for the Minnesota Vikings. But we ran that guy off to a pathetic conference where he could dominate weak athletes like himself right? Don't forget us running away Mr. Jackson and also Mr. Cherry. Cherry who also went on to play back up qb in the nfl though never seeing the field at Arkansas.
That's what we're talking about with Mediocrity. Winning 8 or 9 games in a season, loosing sec championships, never going to bcs bowls, when we could've/should've/would've won a national championship(s) and at least 2 sec championships with the caliber of players we had recruited. Says nothing about Houston being a bad man, just says that he didn't play the best at the best positions. Good luck to Houston at Ole Miss, but everyone just needs to sit down, shut up and watch bobby petrino win an sec championship and eventually a natl championship. can you imagine our razorbacks going to a bcs game? get ready because petrino doesn't need to plant a tree, it will happen quickly. look at his recruiting this year. He started so late and already has the qb from Michigan transferring to Arkansas (who by the way was the #2 qb recruit in the nation behind some kid from Springdale the same year. What was his name? That kid who only wanted to be a razorback since he was 6 years old growing up in NW Arkansas watching the razorbacks every single fb game just like you and me as kids with our families. Didn't he dream of wearing a razorback jersey that had his favorite number 16? Man, I had a dream once he came to Arkansas and went 8-0 as a true freshman in the SEC. But I know that was just a dream because we would never bench a true freshman who had a flawless record. I also dreamt that we let some guy go for $1000 more bucks a year to a school where he led a team this year to be the #1 offense in all of Div I football. I even dreamt he was at the university of arkansas and our staff refused to let him call plays any longer after he dominated the #2 Auburn tigers with his amazing calls. Then in the dream all of these people started saying that his play calling style wouldn't work with our great running backs even though he designed some offensive set for a guy named Darren McFadden. It was scary, but again I know it was just a dream because the hogwild offense was not made by Gus for McFadden but rather used for McFadden later. The truth is Gus Malzahn at Springdale Highschool had some blue chip athlete called D. Williams that would run the same offensive set lining up at qb. the same set that made dmac even more famous and successful. Of course there's nothing wrong with a coach using another coach's play as long as credit is given where credit is due).
Well, now those former homegrown AR boys are on their way to success away from the university that they once loved so much. They were like prophets rejected in their hometown to us die-hard hog fans. Well, good luck razorback fans who wish you were still in the state and wish you were appreciated for your abilities. May your countless successes be great although you don't get to fulfill your dreams at the university of your initial choice.

sincerely,
Mr. Wayne Gordon

Smile people. even when you have to eat your humble pie. because in the end you are and will always be a hog fan. Even when USC dominates with our players.
