I love the idiot who started this webpage to rip the Big East disappearing like a loser.

Hey idiot, you can say that about ANYBODY. You can’t possibly be that stupid. That’s like saying, “if you take about Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen the Bulls wouldn’t have won a championship, so strip them of their titles.” You’re pretty stupid, as evident.

It’s very clear to me that the Big East had a steller year and I could easy see a National Title coming out of that conference in the near future. The SEC simply plays a weak/non-existent OOC schedule. We’ll see how the 4th place USF team fares against the mighty Auburn next year. Perhaps that will be a measure.

I would agree that beating Wake Forrest should not have been that big a deal. However, beating the bottom half of the SEC doesn’t mean what it may have meant in years past. The top of the SEC isn’t as good as Terry Bradshaw would like to believe, and the bottom half is dramatically worse.

What’s more interesting (at the risk of trying to introduce some kind of intelligent comment to this thread) is to consider how well Louisville played after losing a legitimate Heisman candidate. (And no, I’m not suggesting that Michael Bush would have beaten Troy Smith.) To lose a player of that caliber and still play as well as they did, says something about the coaching staff.

As for the SEC avoiding “lesser teams,” that’s clearly erroneous logic. Look at many of the SEC teams’ non-conference schedules. They’ve filled those with patsies. Why not add Louisville to the patsy portion of their schedules? – Tim
