Tennessee Stinks Up the Big Apple; A Loss to the Butler Whatstheirnames, Ignites a Meltdown of the Raucous VolNation

In a special to the LWS, Hatdiggitydog provides his big-orange tinted view of the NIT in New York. Thanks DiggityDog for your country-ass comments. DiggityDog is a male nurse. Not that that means anything. Here is his take on the game:

A smile came to my face as I walked in my living room to see the Vols up 11 early in the first half against Butler. The smile I mentioned did not return for the rest of the evening. After jumping out to a big lead on the Butler (I do not know their nickname)’s, the Vols laid the biggest egg of the Bruce Pearl era for the duration of the game. I was not counting, but I think I came up with at least 65 new combo-cuss words during the second half. Tennessee shot 3 of 130 from the floor in the 2nd, accompanied with free throw shooting that resembled what my dog shat out in the backyard this morning.

A.J. Graves led the Butler Whatever’s with 15 points, did he look like an alien to anybody else? Jajuan Smith, Chris Lofton, and Ramar Smith battled all game for the lead in turnovers for the Orange, all putting up big numbers. Wayne Chism missed 8 shots within 2 feet, but his headband looked terrific. Duke Crews had an early dunk and screamed really loud, but was not heard from after that.

Today, the Vols face a North Carolina team fresh off of an upset loss to Gonzaga. Say it with me Vol fans, “Oh Shit.” While I think we will be a tourney team at the end of the year, this has a chance to get very ugly, very fast. So ugly in fact, I may not watch and just go to the General’s Quarters later and judge the outcome on how big the meltdown is. Hopefully, I am wrong, but I doubt it. After reading a few posts after the Butler loss, it appears the honeymoon is over for Bruce Pearl. Once again, 96% of our fans are homo’s, much like Greg Louganis.
