MTV’s Hoover High Chaplain Terry Slay opened up a great Alabama Day with a Bama Coaching Recruiting Prayer (Bama’s regular chaplain is AWOL) :  “Please send us a Field General that really does care about players and doesn’t treat them as pieces of meat like I’m sure some football factories do. I know I sure as heck made a lot of dumb decisions in college, and I’m glad I wasn’t judged as harshly as some on here can be at times.  Please send us a coach of great character is good for our University in so many ways.  A coach like Rush Propst  or Nick Saban.  My interactions with these great men have always left me with the same impression. There may be sexier offenses that come and go from time to time, but I want no other men to lead our fine program.   Amen.”

Asked about broadcast reports that continue to link him to the University of Alabama’s vacant coaching position, Saban didn’t let the question get all the way out. “I’m not talking about that, guys,” Saban said. “I’ve addressed that enough. When does this become a dead story?“I’ve already said what I said. I talked to our team. I don’t think I need to continue to address this. I’m about trying to beat Buffalo and focusing on that.”
