OK Mal Moore, we will stop making fun of your coaching search if you leave David Cutcliffe outta the Bear Hunt. ESPN’s Ivan Maisel blogs that Coach Cutt would make a good fit in the T-Town. For those of you who are cool like me, here is the ESPN Insider link.

So here’s what we know: Moore has said that he wants a proven head coach. Judging by the names that have come up, he wants a guy who has proven he can win in the SEC (or, in the case of Rodriguez, recruit there. West Virginia has mined good talent from Alabama, including quarterback Pat White of Daphne). He wants a guy who knows what Alabama football used to be.
And here’s what we don’t know: Why hasn’t David Cutcliffe become a bigger name in this search?
The Tennessee offensive coordinator went 44-29 in six seasons as head coach at Ole Miss. That may not sound like the second coming of Bear Bryant, but it’s better than anyone else with a whistle around his neck has done at Ole Miss since the all-white days of John Vaught. Cutcliffe had five consecutive seasons in which the Rebels won at least seven games. He beat every team in the SEC West at least twice.
Frankly, I think this is a bunch of horse patooey. Cutt got fired from Ole Miss, the Chicago Cubs of the SEC. Ask any Ole Miss Fan, they will tell you that Cutt destroyed the Rebel Program. He can’t recruit and he has the personality of a frying pan.
Mal, what makes you think that he would do well in the Tuscaloosa Ghettos?
Realistically, from a physical appearance perspective, Cutt resembles a thumb. He certainly is not a rock star like Saban, Rodriguez or Propst. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a coach Mal. Please Mal, Cutt is not your man. Go get that established winning head coach, keep those Bama Dick Skinners off of the Vols Coaching Staff.

cutt has more chins than wins
Plus Cutt has chins than Bama has wins than the last 5 Bama coaches.
