It is simply amazing to read the Florida Gator Football Message Boards and the stunningly stupid things that the SEC’s worst fan-base have to say about their NFL caliber coach. It’s like they just don’t believe that Herban Meyer could needle, cajole, bitch, campaign and complain about backing into the BCS National Championship. But maybe, just maybe, the Gators are smarter than we think that they are. Here is the current buzz:

You (Meyer) are pathetic coach and the karma of BCS campaigning you generated this last month has convinced me that we deserve to lose to the bucknuts for the next 1000 years of existence. You deserve never again to get any form shot at any national title in any sport. – RealGatorFan

Wake-up Gators, Herban has you in the National Championship Game. Try and enjoy the moment, because Herban is leaving you very soon. His destiny is an NFL Head Coaching position. He is merely “checking the block” of his resume on his way to Pittsburgh or Miami (wouldn’t that be ironic?). The reality is that Herban Meyer is a poor man’s Nick Saban. Meyer is a paid warrior, a mercenary, and soon the big contract from the NFL is going to come calling, if it has not already called him already. And you s ure as hell don’t want to ask Meyer about it, he will use a page from Saban’s job negotiation playbook and peck out your eyes for asking. But, we all saw how that turned out for the Dolphins. Meyer’s career path eerily mirrors Saban, only Meyer is only a couple of year’s behind in progression. FLASH FLASH FLASH Gators: This year is the equivalent of LSU’s shared National Championship. Saban left LSU right after that, and Meyer is going to do the same to you!!
