KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee is promoting its matchup with No. 20 Kentucky as if it’s the game of the year. Volunteers coach Bruce Pearl wants it to be, and he believes the only way to make the rivalry special is to win more often.Tennessee (17-8, 5-5 Southeastern Conference) gets another chance tonight on national TV, and there’s more going on besides the game.
Former star Bernard King will have his number retired at halftime in his first official visit to campus since his playing days. He will be the first men’s player to have his number retired. Fans are encouraged to wear orange as part of the promotion “Paint the Town Orange,” and yes, Pearl and Tubby will be wearing those blinding orange blazers together.
