Ouch Colin Cowherd. Has the SEC Left Fulmer Behind?

Like Krispy Kreme offering wheat doughnuts and Fulmer not getting the memo, has the SEC passed our great Battle Captain by? Colin Cowherd gives us his opinion at the end of this podcast. link
Watch the graphic at the end of this video. From Deadspin.

Florida is better at everything than Tennessee. Right?

Doughnuts so good that you will suck dick like a Gator!!! Clearly the SEC Program on top!!!

Cowherd always finds a way to splice College Football into his show. Today he commented how the recent up-surge in the quality of SEC coaches (Urban-Herban, Les _Fuck” Miles, Nick”feathered angel-haired bangs” Saban, Tuberville) has passed Fulmer by. Fulmer never was a great coach, he just knows how to manage talent. His in-game coaching was awful.

  1. I would tend to agree with Cowherd. In the SEC, it seems like there’s definitely four tiers. Florida is in a league of its own right now. The Second tier you could argue are teams like Auburn and LSU. The third tier is Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and the fourth is everybody else (Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vandy, Kentucky is slowly working its way up to tier 3). I don’t think Fulmer can compete in the recruiting game against Miles, Tubby, Saban and Meyer. If Mark Richt can keep Georgia kids in Athens… Fulmer could quickly find himself the 6th best coach in the SEC. http://www.patrickdonohue.wordpress.com.

  2. How can anyone in their right mind consider Saban, Meyer, and Miles to be great “coaches”? LSU wins in spite of Miles. Same for UF with Meyer. Those teams win due to geography more than anything. Heck, LSU finished 3rd in its own division (as did Kentucky).

Saban went 6-10 last season and 15-17 the last 2 years (Shula, by comparison, went 16-8 the last 2 seasons) and is steamrolling towards a 6-loss season in 2007. Maybe the question should be whether football has passed Saban by.

Not sure if the SEC has left Fulmer behind, but last year he and his staff outcoached Meyer, Miles, Richt, and Spurrier. The talent disparity is a concern (again, due to geography) but coaching is not.

  3. Most head coaches are only as good as their assistants. Coach Tuberville has had the best damn luck with the guys he hires. Coach Fulmer, aka Mephistopheles, brought back a proven OC. That took a lot of pressure off of the DC and the record showed.

  4. Man…it really hurts when an expert like Colin negatively chimes in on your status. I’ll bet Philmer is really worried.

I’d say that the rest of radio has past that idiot up, but then he never was in any place but dead last.

One more thing, I am SOOOOO tired of hearing how great a coach Saban is without a single shred of evidence. In 10 years of Div 1 coaching, he has 5 (yes that is half for you Bammer fans) 5 loss or greater seasons. In 15 years, Fulmer has 2. In 40 years, Paterno has 5.

Cowhearder and Saban were meant for each other. They’re both great, just ask them.
