So Florida athletes likes to get high from time to time. Big deal. Who’re they hurting, other than themselves?

As far as we are concerned the only things that the SEC should be concerned about are steroids and other performance enhancing drugs. Unless you play ball for Florida, then roids/HGH etc should be legal too…like Bam-Bam. If you had a regular, everyday, blue-collar job, and your employer knew that you smoked pot but your job performance didn’t change at all do you think that they would say anything?

So why does the SEC have to suspend its players from work when they get into legal trouble when they already have to serve jail time, go to court, etc.? They’ve already payed their “debt to society” why do they have to be suspended from their jobs too? If a regular guy got arrested do you think his employer would be like, “Nope sorry you can’t work today, in fact you can’t work for 4 months, see you in July.” Unless you have a high ranking job, are a police officer, fireman etc. then we highly doubt it.

Urban “Herban” Meyer will no doubt be ridiculed for his decision to let his players play the game, great men often are, but true fans recognized the service he has given to his school and his team. We should all learn from Meyer’s shining example and show our appreciation and love for the Gator Nation. Next time you run into a Gator player make sure to buy him a drink or a joint or an assault rifle or heck why not buy all three? Just tell that Gator not to worry about that drive home, Coach has him covered.
