In case you care…
In case you care, the NCAA’s football rules committee have done away with the rules that clipped minutes from games and made Wisconsin coach Brett Bielema look like a criminal mastermind.
According to this AP article from the Orlando Sentinel, games will now be *GASP* longer! NOOOOOOOOO! Longer college football games! More time at the stadium or in front of my beloved television on a Saturday afternoon. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE! MYLES BRAND, HELP US!
“While this year’s changes likely mean games again will be longer, the panel approved several other measures intended to help keep them closer to 3 hours than 31/2.”
Seriously, who’s complaining about games running long? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
No one is complaining about this except for the television networks. Lost in this argument was what’s good for the game, not necessarily what’s good for the fans because frankly they don’t care. What’s good for the game is not doing anything and everything to make the game shorter.
I’m glad to see this rule go away.

If they did away with 49 minute halftimes and commercials after every play, the game length wouldn’t be an issue.
Wait, they wouldn’t make as much money that way. Forget I said anything.
