Found this today on Engadget and thought it was cool.

Researchers at Virginia Tech have developed the technology to install a system in their helmets that monitors the severity and frequency of hard hits. The goal of the system is to detect brain injuries like concussions before the player becomes syptomatic. Pretty cool stuff.

That’s Virginia Tech, folks, leading the way in concussion prevention, leg-stomping and hiding “jewelry” in secret compartments in water bottles.
