Welcome to the first ever Homeric Iliad Invitational (HII). What the hell is this you’re probably wondering. Well, we want to know what college football message board has the biggest, most myopic homers in all of the interwebs! (Or at least the biggest knuckleheads of all the SEC boards plus a few other teams) And we need your help. We’ve made up a bracket with 32 message boards and it’s your job to vote. Feel free to vote on as many games as you like.

The first games come out of the Coonass Region, where we have 4 message boards for Alabama, 3 for LSU, and 1 for Arkansas. Click the links below to see and vote on the individual matchups. Vote in the comments section of each post. Feel free to leave an explanation for your vote. Especially good ones may even count double.
First a little background (pros and cons) on the teams of this region.
ALABAMA (Pros)
- Tradition matched by only a select few. Only one maybe.
- Bama message boards are usually the first places to break the big news regarding anything Bama
- It’s not Auburn
- Bama’s mascot is a freaking elephant (although not a live one)
- It’s a feat in and of itself that so many Alabama residents can use and have access to computers to have such large online communities.
Cons
- No matter how bad the schools are in Alabama, they still find a way to pay their coach more than the GDP of Bolivia.
- Sometimes forgets it’s not 1979 anymore
- Unrealistic expectations
- Anytime the media wants to describe the pressure-cooker that is coaching at Bama, they invariably trot out Bill Curry, which is never a good thing.
LSU(pros)
- Mike the Tiger
- Death Valley – at night
- Corndogs – although LSU fans actually do not smell like the tasty wrapped weiner (it’s more like a rank combo of Wild Turkey and Old Spice), the fact that they take offense to it makes it funny
- Les Miles’ hat
Cons
- LSU fans were/are more pissed at Saban for taking the BAMA job than Dolphin fans were
- What kind of people would affectionately call themselves coonasses
- Let Tennessee (led by the worst Clausen of the bunch) come back from a huge first half deficit to win
- Also to blame for part of the build-up of Tim Tebow by allowing him to complete the ugliest pass in the history of sport for a TD.
Arkansas (pros)
- Gave the world Bear Bryant
- Darren McFadden – aka Humanity Advanced
- Extremely ingenuitive fanbase – what other fanbase would think to use the Freedom of Information Act to gather damning evidence on the head coach (actually I’m a little disappointed/surprised some BAMA fan didn’t think of this
- Gave us the ever evolving, always entertaining Mustain/Malzohn/Nutt drama
Cons
- Have you ever tried to get to Fayetteville?
- the Wildcat formation will set college football back 25 years, but with McFadden, it’s damn impossible to stop

- Wal-Mart
