“No, cause it ain’t [expletive]. Ain’t nothing but 10 grand. What’s 10 grand to me?”
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has teamed up with the United Way to donate $10,000 to assist families affected by the massacre at Virginia Tech, his former school.
“When tragic things like this happen, families have enough to deal with, and if I can help in some small way, that’s the least I can do,” said Vick, who played for the Hokies before being drafted No. 1 overall by the Falcons in 2001.

I’m so glad I didn’t post this because I saw it on USAToday’s blog and was so tempted. I agree that for someone who owes much of what he is today to Virginia Tech, this is a very small amount of money. I promise you that there are other VT alumni who’s contributions, while not made public, will dwarf Vick’s. I think in times of tragedy, the integrity and class of individuals is given the opportunity to shine and Michael Vick is showing his.
Vick = all class
10 grand? Ten fucking grand? If I wasn’t mooching off of the GI Bill right now I would give more than that, and I have never stepped foot on VA Tech’s campus.
I have always defended Mike Vick (never Marcus) but he should be ashamed of his “donation.”
But we are not taking into account he has to pay for his brother’s legal fees.
