Does Keith Olbermann read LWS?

In an interview with SI.com’s Richard Deitsch, the savior of democracy himself admitted that he read Deadspin. If you’ll recall Deadspin linked to an article I wrote about his nomination to the cast of Football Night in America on NBC. A post where I named him to my list of the top 5 most self-important people in sports. Now none of this means that the Savior reads this blog but I think it goes without saying that my assessment of Olbermann as an ego manic when you consider what Olbermann relayed to Deitsch: that he Googles himself — “probably” once a day is probably pretty spot-on.

Olbermann explains his egomania this way:

“‘I will confess: There is a bookmark for that. I probably do that once a day. There is a lot of stuff out there that is completely untrue and you have to know what is out there and whether you should call a lawyer.’”

So not only is he arrogant enough to Google himself “probably” once a day but he’s also so wildly insecure that anything he sees that isn’t true — he’s got his attorney on Line 1.

I’ve said this before. I don’t necessarily disagree with where Olbermann stands politically but I don’t need that mixed in with my football. The second I hear anything slightly political come out of Olbermann’s mouth on that broadcast I’m turning the channel.

  1. Honestly, I do not know why I subscribe to SI. A poor man’s ESPN

  2. everybody is secretly running for president, there isn’t a better way to retire even for a man in sports

  3. Yes, Olberman reads your atrocious utterings.

    ‘Scuse me…it’s too funny.

  4. GatorGod

Of course he does. This post has nothing to do with Florida, so move along

  5. You’re right.

    Maybe he does.

He probably comes to see me verbally disembowel you.

  6. I didn’t write this. You should tread with caution, the author of this post will embarrass you, if he chooses.

  7. I’m sure he will.

His posts certainly demonstrate his acumen.

Wait….did I just fall for a trolling manuever again?

    Scratch this…

  8. I googled myself in the shower this morning (insert rimshot here).

You know what you get when you cross Keith Olberman and Stuart Scott? 20-20 vision.

  9. You say: “. . . he’s also so wildly insecure that anything he sees that isn’t true — he’s got his attorney on Line 1″

So far we haven’t heard of any lawsuits involving Olbermann much less having been initiated by him. With a bit of research you’d have discovered that fact, and ruled out your interpretation of his statement as preposterous and a complete distortion. Yet I’m willing to bet your lack of thoroughness won’t prompt a phone call. :P

  10. Easy to not watch Olbermann when; A. He’s a jackass, and B. His political positions are fit for Lenin. At one time, he was kinda funny being Dan Patrick’s wingman on sportscenter, but now he’s just……. Wait a second, he’s still on TV?
