Poor Houston Nutt.
Besieged and maligned by “fans” of his own team. Attacked from the front and the rear. A victim of a vicious campaign to expedite his demise. But he is standing strong in the face of his enemies.
“I’m not going to crack. I’m not going to crack. They are not going to be able to move my family out this year. They aren’t going to be able to do it. They’ve got to do it from what happens on the field.”
The reality of the situation is summed up by ancient Athletic Director Frank Broyles:
“There seems to be a few people who want to do evil, sinful, un-Christianlike things,” Broyles said. “I feel sorry for them.”
And we feel sorry for them, too. What kind of fans turn to the devil to lead them in their quest for a coaching change? How can Arkansas fans not be satisfied with a ten win season. Let that be repeated: These are fans of ARKANSAS that want a coach that led them to 10 wins gone. You’d think 10 wins in the Ozarks would get you a lifetime contract!
Repent, Arkansans, repent. Find your Christian souls and beg forgiveness from Nutt and Broyles.
If Arkansas winning 10 games isn’t a clear sign that a higher power exists, then these people will never believe.
