Athlon’s Sneak Peek at Tennessee

These aren’t desperate times in Knoxville, but with a slate that starts with California, Southern Miss and Florida, it could quickly develop into a pressure-packed situation for Phillip Fulmer. [Athlon]

Yep, not winning the SEC since 1998 and losing to that mental midget, Herban Meyer one more time should do the trick for Fulmer. Fulmer should be fired only of he loses to Florida and Meyer. That will be the sign that he has lost his competitive edge.

This garbage of busting on Ainge is getting old. Clearly the Athlon writer is a Cromptonite [link]: Erik Ainge’s psyche is another factor, as the talented senior has at times forced the issue under pressure. Should Ainge falter, Jonathan Crompton has shown toughness in adverse situations.

We like Crompton, but after his spring practice (we don’t like his freaky goon squad that act on his behalf), he is not ready to take Ainge’s place. In fact he is 0-2 as starter. The only thing Ainge should worry about is keeping the goons away from his knees.
