Baseball Rescheduling

Tired of interleague play? Angry at the awful schedule this year? Then check out this MLB realignment plan: Five divisions, NFL-like rotating schedule, no interleague. Interesting, 5 baseball divisions [Baseball Prospectus].

What happens to the Designated Hitter?  Would the All-Star Game be meaningless again?

How about limiting interleague to two  4-game series per year w/ mandatory WS rematch; return to 154 games w/ 76 division games, 70 league games plus 8 interleague games; Require pitcher’s to put on dress when issuing an intentional walk; and place landmines in the outfield?

So  STFU Chipper Jones, you fucking gator. Here is a bit more from the Prospectus:

How do we arrange the thirty current teams into five divisions? In my opinion, the divisions should accomplish two things:

  1. Keep ancient rivalries intact.
  2. Reduce travel distance as much as possible.
