Kobe for Dirk? Straight up.

It would work under the salary cap. It would make sense for the Lakers. But would it make Dallas better?

Dallas Morning News columnist Jean-Jaucques Taylor sure thinks it would.kobeondirk.jpg

Me? I’m not so sure. Except for the fact that Kobe will surely enjoy Texas women just as much as California women, or even Colorado women (whoops), the Mavericks can’t afford to lose Dirk’s production on the boards and his size in general.

Dallas would be too small. They would have Dampier and Diop down low and that’s it. Not enough in the powerful Western Conference.

But on the other hand, they wouldn’t have some dominant German turn pussy come playoff time. They would have a validated leader. They would have a first-class perimeter defender. They would have a dominant scorer. Who demands the ball in crutch time. Instead of hiding from it.

They would have a champion.

Spurs suck.

  1. I always thought Tyrone Prothro was the only one that wanted the ball at “crutch time.” Maybe I was mistaken.

  2. [...] post by hogpage and software by Elliott [...]

  3. Kobe is such an attention whore, i can’t picture him sharing the spotlight with TO

  4. JP, it’s not nice to joke about my floppy get-a-way stick.

  5. My sister lives in Dallas. You think that would be something to worry about if Kobe does end up wearing a Mavs uniform?

  6. TKGB, who posts on this blog is working a rebuttal to this. He is a laker man

  7. rebuttal to which part? Kobe for Dirk? Or Kobe being traded in general?
