Surprising? No. Unsettling? Yes

It was false hope the whole time.

The San Antonio Spurs have this uncanny ability to play under the radar while manipulating our minds into believing the series is closer than reality might have it.

Because before you know it, they’ve just won a series-clinching Game 5 by 25 points, and are headed to another NBA finals.

Those bastards.

And the thing is, no one is surprised.

San Antonio sure as hell isn’t. I mean this was their plan all along.

Utah’s head coach Jerry Sloan never expressed any signs for higher expectations or optimism. He knew Utah sucked.

If he thought they had a chance, then he’s just aged real badly.

Hell, Gregg Popovich knew tonight was special. Not one to wear suits on a regular basis, Pop strutted up and down the Spurs bench looking sharp in a beige ensemble.

Why the suit?

Lets just say he probably wanted to look sharp when he was presented with another Western Conference championship.

And he did.

Simply put, the Spurs can be compared to softcore porn and hardcore porn. Softcore San Antonio disperses no signs of nervousness, no signs of agitation or stress. They slow down the game to a point where they’re comfortable, but still on their heels. Never letting their opponent net any discernible confidence throughout the course of a game. And it might be a close call, but in the end, it gets the job done

Now, hardcore San Antonio doesn’t play around. They get right to the point. They let you know what they are going to do and how they are going to do it. And the job gets done a lot quicker.

Like last night’s Game 5.

But are the Spurs that good? Hard to say.

I mean everybody on Utah played liked everybody presumed they would, seven months ago. Andrei Kirilenko, the former face of the franchise, led them in scoring with 13 points. The new face, Carlos Boozer played the way he looks, pitching in an unpleasant nine points. Deron Williams finally looked like a rookie. And I don’t know what the hell Utah would of done without Gordan Giricek’s five points on 1-3 shooting.

What happened to ole’ cliche, “The hardest game to win is the fourth one.”

Guess Utah proved them wrong, huh? Just the third game is the hardest to win. The first, second, fourth, and fifth are easy. Piece of cake.

I mean Tim Duncan’s night was over when he took his regular rest, nine minutes into the 1st quarter. The Spurs ended the first with 34-15 lead.

At least Utah had a lot of time to panic.

And if that’s the case they’re a hideous team under pressure. As a team, the Jazz shot just 38 percent from the field. They only hit 2-8 from 3-point range. And they shot a below average 69 percent from the line.

Accompany that with abominable defense and what do you get?

Utah’s entire black community pummeled by 25 points, and a season-ending loss in Texas.

David Stern is still kissing Lebron ass.

Spurs still suck.
