Phil’s rabelieves Wisconsin’s luck will run out. He points to their harder schedule this year as opposed to last. He also thinks they were lucky because of their 3 net close wins, and their ability to score a lot of points for the yards they gained (Yards-per-point) while allowing few points for the yards they allowed. He thinks their team is better than last years, but he has them losing on the road to Penn State and Ohio State, therby exceeding the number of their losses last year.
He more convincingly points out that Auburn, Florida, and Tennesee will probably do worse this year than they did last year.

you guys dumping on steele for these predictions should go take a look at the link provided above that shows results of the preseason predictions for the past 10 years. steele since 99 or so, steele is far and away the most reliable and accurate predictor; i think he was the only one with THREE #1 years as well as another 2 or 3 years in the top 3. to me that means that he simply understands more in creating this year’s unusual predictions. or possibly, but less likely, this is the first year he goes off the deep end. past performance indicates future behavior.
