In defense of Yi Jianlian, he’s not in control of where he goes, who he plays for, or whether or not he’ll show up for a press conference. He’s totally controlled by the communist Chinese government, much like Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Man, isn’t communism great?

That’s what you get for trying to play nice with a player from a communist country. If I were in the Bucks’ draft position and it was our turn to pick, my note for David Stern to read would be: “With the 6th pick in the 2007 NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select… Well… It says here that they would select Yi Jianlian from China, but since he’s from a communist country and thinks communism is a good idea then we’ll not pick him and let him stay in the thriving capatilist utopia that is Shenzhen, China. No, we’ll select Spencer Hawes, I guess. Doesn’t really matter at this point anyway.”
