Not a stretch at all – the guy in question is PRESIDENT of the local gaytor fan club! “The appearance of impropriety” is appropriate here.

You make it sound as though this guy only strolled across campus ONCE to see his cousins’ graduation and only had a passing interest in the program. He is obviously more than the average sidewalk alumni.

BTW – was this guy the linesman who made the alleged TD call in the 2001 game against Tennessee where the receiver clearly did not have possession of the ball? Or was he the official who let the ruling stand as called w/o replay?
