Well, this is horseshit.
JP Sports, er, Lincoln Financial Sports football analyst Dave Rowe, long-rumored to be the father of Holly Rowe (he’s not) is being kicked out of the broadcast booth after 13 seasons, to replaced by former Falcons qb Dave Archer. Crimony!
Seriously, Dave Rowe spent 28 years in broadcasting and has a Super Bowl X ring he earned as a lineman for the Raiders. What the hell has Archer ever done? Oh, that’s right; he played for the Falcons and does commentary for them, so I guess he’s used to turning shit into shinola.
I can see the help wanted ad now:
Wanted: Experienced football game day color analyst to cover third-tier college football games. Must be willing to travel to exotic locales such as Lexington, Kentucky and Auburn, Alabama. Ideally, your strengths include reviewing tape, making sound effects with your mouth and incorrectly guessing Aflac trivia questions. Telestrator experience helpful, but not necessary. Birth name of “Dave” a plus. EOE
First, JP Sports changed their name. Now the big guy has vamoosed. Watching Vandy and Mississippi State on Saturday afternoons will never be the same.Let’s hope the big guy lands on his feet.
(big ups to deepsouthsports.net for the linkage!)

I am quite honored. Never before has an entire 200 word post been a hyper link to my humble blog. This has to be some kind of guinness book of world records type thing, and I thank you boys sincerely.
My understanding is that Rowe has health issues and that is why he’s not in the booth this season. He’s rumored to be doing at least one game for Lincoln Financial this season.
