Here is a story that ran Friday before the Sweet Stinky Weed story broke Saturday morning. In the article posted on WLTX.com, titled The Gamecocks Read To Children at the Library, the following paragraph is noticed.

Some got busted for making a mistake or two in day’s activities. But other Gamecocks have been in real trouble, like freshman quarterback Stephen Garcia for underage drinking and keying a car, and senior quarterback Blake Mitchell for fighting at a bar.

This is the message that is to be released by the University next week addressing South Carolina’s recent legal problems:

Dear Fellow Cocks, don’t worry about the media. Coach Spurrier has everything under control. He knows what he’s doing. Concerning the Gamecocks recent legal issues, I am comforted by what coach Spurrier said to me in an text message, “the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.”

How long must the Cocks suffer the injustices of the Kangaroo Courts of the Liberal Left-Wing media before they are given the credit and respect that they deserve? Cock fans should know the truth about the media. We all know that South Carolina has dominated college football for so long that the journalists have become jaded with moral victory after moral victory. That is to be expected as they are envious of the mighty Cock lineage and heraldry.

With each blow against them, however, the Cocks have become stronger, forging a football tradition of winning moral victories unlike any other. Soon it will be time to rally the troops and show Carolina’s enemies (Clemson and the Young Turk in Gainesville) that resisting the pull of the Cocks is futile. Spurrier will assimilate the ignorant, into a world where Cocks reign supreme.
