“2007 SEC will be the toughest football conference in the history of college football.”
Oh yes, the Southeast Conference is clearly superior….yes it is.

As if we didn’t already know that we are best and toughest conference in America. This year will be even harder for a lot of teams. Kentucky and Vandy are improved as is USC. Ole Miss has the players to be good, just kidding!! they still suck. Miss State is really the only weak team in the conference as of right now but they are better than Ole Miss.
My worry is that a one loss SEC team could get bumped for an undefeated Big East Team in BCS National Championship game. That my friends is a very real scenario. I don’t think that ESPN really cares that Louisville or West Virginia play a very weak strength of schedule. ESPN will hype those 2 BCS B-List Pretenders regardless of the facts. Katie bar the door, Here come the Big East fans: Woo-Hoo!!! Light that couch, order me a Papa John’s Pizza, best OOC record ever, 5-0 in bowls last year and we beat Georgia two years ago!!
Here is a nugget from NationalChamps.net that is not generating a lot of discussion on Big East Message Boards. It is being treated like the weird uncle that nobody likes sit next to at family reunions. Louisville’s SOS is ranked at 57 and the OOC schedule is ranked at 87. WVU’s SOS is 62 and OOC is ranked at 89. So yes, if one of these Manpads goes undefeated, could they get in the BCS National Championship Game over a one loss SEC team?
What really bothers me is that one of the B-List BCS teams (WVU) is playing Mississippi State this year. I can hear it now: “we played an SEC team MSU, and they just were not that tough…believe it or not, the SEC doesn’t revolve around the Florida Gators. Any team this year could argue that they can win the SEC with the exceptions of Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Kentucky and Vandy will field their best teams in a long time. This is the toughest its ever been that’s for sure.
There is certainly a case for the SEC this year, but that can be said about almost every year. I do think, however, that the conference is even more stacked than normal this year..with 5 teams having a real shot at the East and 4 at the West. There are four legit contenders for the East crown, and the others are viable dark horses. In the West, you’ve got two contenders (AU, LSU), one (very) dark horse (Bama), one team that nobody has a freaking clue about (ARK), and the Mississippi schools.
In the East, UF, UT, UGA and a Carolina as a darkhorse leaving the bottom for Vandy and UK.

“Miss State is really the only weak team in the conference as of right now but they are better than Ole Miss.”
Wow, what a sentence.
it is good stuff
