Barry Switzer on the radio: helldamncrap!

by Jai Eugene

When Herban Meyer gets the ax in Gunsville, he can follow the footsteps of the great coaches that preceded him. Long live the wishbone!  I am crankcalling this motherfucker.  Maybe I can save Florida by breaking the hypnotic death grip Switzer has on Meyer.

It was announced yesterday that Barry Switzer will join XM Satellite Radio as a football analyst this fall, providing expert analysis and commentary on the sports talk radio channel XM Sports Nation (XM Channel 144). [Link]

How does Barry Switzer getting a radio show on XM have anything to do with Urban Meyer?

Barry Switzer? Didn’t he run an outlaw football program, like Meyer? Dope guns and money?…Yes he did

  3. 2007 August 14

I clearly see the connection between Meyer and Switzer

Is the “Boz” gonna be his sidekick?

Jerry Jones will be a regular.

    Fear the Eer Gator

No Gator fears any mildly retarded “man” (Eer) in a racoon hat.

Yup — the Vol’s “clean” program is clearly paying dividends and filling up their trophy case too – wait, what about Coker? Look back at those Bowling Green and Utah squads — chalk full of lawless thugs, right? This is so tired, guys. Get a new hook, please. It’s like me getting all over Vol’s fans for being dumb rednecks. Come on — let’s push the creative envelope a little more here. You guys are funny, right?

Well said, T-KGB. Their attempt to relate everything that goes wrong in college football (and the world) to the the Gators and Urban has grown old. Time for a new angle, fellas.

Also, mark it down that Coker will be back for the UF game if UT’s running game struggles a little bit out of the gates to start the year..

  10. 2007 August 14

Coker will be back when he has fulfilled his commitments. If that happens to be the UF game, well sucks for you I guess. doesn’t matter anyway. We are going to have a helluva running game this year with Foster.

  11. 2007 August 14

Ahhh, I see. Just like Marcus Thomas did for the Gators last year. He was let back on the team after he “fulfilled his commitments”. But then was kicked off for good when he couldn’t abide by the Rules Urban laid out for him. This is just another case of how UT has no room to talk about ANY problems that happen at UF.

Also, you’re right. The talent at RB is there for UT. But they need to be coached properly and you need to be able to block in order to run. SEE: FSU the last couple of years.

sorry to not participate in the threadjack, but love him or hate him, switzer is freakin’ hilarious. i live in dallas so he’ll make a sports radio cameo a couple times a year, and without fail the guy has me in stitches.

I have no problems with Switzer whatsoever. I care about SEC Football. I look forward to hearing him on XM.

We are just thinking that the marus thomas/ Jarvis moss rule should apply to the Vols too. Is that to much to ask?

Jai, UF just copied the Peter Warrick rule form the Noles…

You can play as long as its not a felony…

    I mean…

It’s not like he shot the president or anything…

See FSU? They can’t even compete in their own weak-ass conference. We will be in the mix after kicking some Gator ass down in Gainesville and going 3-0. Erik is gonna lead the band in a rendition of Rocky Top and chomp again. I can’t believe you Gaytors get so riled up over a dumbass friggin’ body movement. I bet you’d suck Timmy Tebone off if he’d let you.

  17. 2007 August 14

    Sabanocchio:

Don’t group me with the few Gator fans who think Tebow is a GOD! For some reason, those fans seem to get all the pub from the media and bloggers. He’s going to be good, but he’s still got to do it on the field. And hey, it isn’t our fault that UT didn’t do shit for the rest of the game after Ainge celebrated very, very prematurely. That’s just the way it worked out my friend.

Now, if our defense doesn’t mature really quick, and UT can run the ball in G’ville, we might be in trouble. In all seriousness, the game is a toss up right now and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gators lose or if it’s a high-scoring affair with a Gator win. This year’s team is so new.

With that being said, it still doesn’t change the fact that UT is 5-10 against the Gators over the past 15 years, your Coach has a losing record against Meyer, Richt, Spurrier, and Tuberville, and that you all haven’t won shit in almost a decade. But hey, this might be your year……..

  18. 2007 August 14

Wow LL, that manifesto is going to leave a mark….

  19. 2007 August 15

Dammit! I didn’t mean to come across so harsh. Sorry, Guys.

Seriously though, this could be UT’s year just as much as it could be UGA’s or UF’s. There is no clear front-runner in the SEC-E. All 3 teams have question marks. As for the others, South Carolina won’t win it because their schedule is brutal. And although Kentucky and Vandy are nice stories and better, they’re still Kentucky and Vandy.
