Each time that I open up your website and see Roy Exum’s crimson and Lookout Mountain prep school elitist fingerprints all over the site, I feel like I have stepped back in time 20 or 30 years . I grew up in Chattanooga and was forced to read Roy Exum’s jaundiced and slanted views of sports. Of course back then, the newspaper was pretty much the only game in town. And the Exums owned the paper so we were stuck with “what you see is what you get”. Fortunately, I escaped to the military and then the internet offered another respite to his sappy and sugary depictions of Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.
One of the best things to ever happen to the Chattanooga sports scene was the sale of the Time-Free Press to any other enity than the Exum family. In days before the sell, old Roy and his ilk went out of their way to ensure that McCallie, Baylor, GPS and Notre Dame received top billing of the sports news print. Don’t anyone even begin to deny that accusation. Chattanooga’s ‘old’ money is on Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge and Signal Mountain and their kids attend those schools .
I recently read Roy Exums’s latest effort on Bear Bryant and threw up in my mouth [link]. I read Roy’s denial about being a Bama homer , I am not buying that crap. Roy says that he was just “covering his territory” so he had to write about Bama [link 2] I bet Roy knew Logan Young too. Logan Young along with Bear Bryant was highly influential in Bama’s success. Right Roy? Share a Logan Young story with us, please?
I guess what bothers me is about your site is that you are providing him an outlet to post his biased views again, unfettered. Now if old Roy owns this website, just let me know so that I can delete it from my bookmarks.
The last time I checked, Bama was doing its best to replicate the SMU program that received the NCAA’s death penalty. Like an overloaded warp core Bama must be ejected into the void of independent status where they can do less harm,(or at least the Mountain West, where no one really cares what harm they do). Start a writing campaign to eject this infected program from our conference before it is too late. It all depends on you good people … I know you will do the right thing.
Until then, make Roy Exum stop.

Girl, I suggest that you either toughen up the soles of your feet or maybe even break down and get some real shoes…..’cause I think you seriously need to “move on,” and this may involve toughening up a little… getting up and walking away….
Seems like you’ve done some cool things — maybe in the military — but unfortunately, you’ve missed them because you are still festering” over your past…a bit bitter…some scar tissue….at the end of the day, you define yourself as a “loser.”
If indeed you were “forced” (golly, “socks,” who “forced” you to read only one newspaper….I mean did you call DSS? Were you not aware tht there there were other papers? Are you literate, competent, coherant?)…and if it was just so awful to be in Chattanoooga, well then, why on earth do you continue to dwell on it sweetie?….I mean, move on, there’s a bigger world out there….

It has been my experience that thechattanoogan.com is not really interested in facts. They will not publish most of the stuff I send them. I present facts that are contrary to some of the opinions they publish.
The worst part is the blathering of Roy “Real World” Exum. I am not wasting any more time on thecensorednoogan.com. If they had a pair they would open up a message board or something so local people could have an outlet, rather than presenting only what they see fit.
