SEC Power Poll

2007 September 3
by Jai Eugene

Here is another poll that I clearly have no business being involved with, the SEC Power Poll [Link].  I have not cast my ballot, yet.  I have to vote by midnight tonight.  Anyone think this fucked up?
The task is rank the SEC programs 1-12, with 1 being the best and 12 being the worst. Points will be done the same way, essentially, as in the media polls or practically any other poll. Teams will get 12 points for every No. 1 ballot, 1 point for each No. 12 vote, and so on.

  1.  LSU
  2. Auburn
  3. Arkansas
  4. Florida
  5. UGA
  6. Tennessee
  7. South Carolina
  8. Alabama
  9. Vandy
  10. Kentucky
  11. Mississippi State
  12. Ole Miss

this is the most stupid poll i’ve ever seen…the defending national champs are no.4…..for what reason exactly???

ole miss is #12, defeating memphis, miss. st. is #11, and couldn’t score 1 pt. vs. LSU. auburn beat a terrible kansas state team and is #2.

it’s like throwing darts at a dartboard…it makes no sense!

    AngryEer:

I was just wondering, what is WVU’s record against USF?

    Hugs,
    LL

p.s. Remember last week when I told you that Appalachian State were the “REAL Mountaineers”? Looks like I was right.

p.s.s. Way to give up 24 points to Western Michigan. The 3-3-5 is a WALL! *yawn*

Yeah, I was surprised too. I saw WKU moving the ball with ease against the National Champs. If I cared, I would post the stats of your game, but I imagine that the owner of this blog likes having SEC fans come here, So I CHOOOSE not to embarrass you

    GO EERS

  7. 2007 September 3

That’s because you can’t embarrass me, Eer.

I choose not to embarrass you, too. You live in West Virginia. That’s embarrassment enough.

    Go Gators!

    Thomas the Terrible

If you are ranking TN #4, then you are saying that Cal would be the 3rd or 4th best team in the SEC. Surely you are mistaken. This will not be a good year for TN. You lost way to much from last season. TN at best will be a 6-6 team this year. There is no way in hell they can be the 4th best team in the SEC.

I will probably go with your poll, except that I would switch Ole Miss and MSU.

If you could stop the childlike flames, you could get off of double secret probation.

I will look at it after I get back from Wal Mart. Angry should be around today to talk shit

EER….what’s your record against louisville…s.fla?? when’s the last time you won the MNC?

i’d love to see you decipher the meaningless stats of the w.kentucky game…..it’d be quite amusing. florida has no defense…blar blar blar.

I ranked Tenn. that high because they played a quality opponent on the road and in reality if it wasn’t for 2 dumb mistakes the game would gone into overtime. Arkansas allowed Troy to score 26, Auburn struggled at home against an unranked K-State Team and don’t let that score fool you it was a lot closer, I can’t remember the name of who Kentucky played, USC struggled against Oh La La, Bama played a 1-AA school, Ole Miss barely beat Memphis, Vandy is Vandy & Miss. State is well Miss State.

Saying Tenn. will be 6-6 is foolish at best. We threw well, we ran well without out #1 running back who was suspended for one game.

  12. 2007 September 3

I didn’t say TN will be 6-6, i said at best they will be 6-6. TN has a brutal schedule. They lost a lot of talent from last years team. I know i give you guys a lot of crap about your Vols. It is all in fun and i would have loved to see them beat the hell out of Cal. But I am a realist, and it is obvious to everyone but Vols fans that this will be a down year for TN.

JL, much like Eer – the more you post, the more cred you lose.

Angry, I don’t get to many High school games, so probably not.

I stand by my reasoning, and seeing you’re a WVU fan, I stand more firmly behind it than before.

  18. 2007 September 4

i am definately not a WVU fan. I am so anti Big Least that i think they should have their automatic BSC bid replaced with an automatic weed wacker bowl bid. I am SEC through and through.
