The best games in college football this week happened outside the ACC. There weren’t too many surprises this past weekend but here are a few notes from around the conference:
Virginia Tech won, although not as easily as this Hokie would have liked. They won’t stand a chance in this weekend’s Tragedy Bowl if their defense doesn’t wake up. The highlight of the otherwise bland game was the 832 times the game was referred to as a “game of healing”. SHomit.
Florida State managed to look like a Pee Wee football team in the Bowden Bowl as Clemson trounced them in Monday night’s game. When asked to comment on the loss to his son, Bobby Bowden said “We were bad” and then promptly grounded Tommy for three weeks with no phone privileges.
The loss of running back Toney Baker won’t have much of an impact on NC State’s chances in the conference. They didn’t have much of a chance to begin with.
Although they won, Maryland’s issues have left them with a choice between Jordan Steffy and my mom for next week’s game. Rumor has it my mom will get the start.
Back-up quarterback Peter Lolich pulled a Tony Romo by stepping in for UVA’s final offensive drive, going 3 for 5 with 16 yards. Drew Bledsoe called struggling starting quarterback Sewell after the game with the advice “Break Lolich’s knee now. Trust me.”
Bennett’s performance for Georgia Tech in their Notre Dame win wasn’t enough to put fans at ease. He went 11 for 23, 121 yards and no touchdowns, which is embarrassing considering the amount of receivers he has to throw to. If the Maryland gig falls through, my mom’s available if needed.

Jessica Alba is my hero
If by “hero” you mean “Chick I’d like to wrap my tool”…
I’d have to agree…

Yeah, that kind of hero.

Most recently on Babes Love Baseball, if I remember correctly
UVA’s QB play has stunk more than a compost heap since Matt Schaub left, and Sewell is no exception. It doesn’t help, either, that there are no WR on this team. Mike Rowe wants suggestions for his “Dirty Jobs” show? Here’s one; come in and clean up the mess that is the UVA offense.
