Sweet Lou’s Locks
From our resident card playing fiend, SLV:
Time for another installment of the Locks. Before I get started, I wanted to say thanks to the guys at Loserswithsocks blog site for posting last week’s Locks as an article on their site. You should check out this CFB blog site. These guys have a great sense of humor and do great work. Also, a special thanks to the Troy Trojans who provided a back-door cover (scored late in the game to cover the spread) to carry the Locks to a 2-1 start this year. The “Holtz Fade” also hit, but that one was a lay-up.
I hope everyone saw Granny Holtz give his Michigan “Pep Talk” last night (Someone send us the video please). Absolutely off the charts hysterical. With his tie loosened and spewing everywhere, Holtz gave a mock pre-game speech that was one for the ages. I was so pumped when I heard it last night that I hopped right off the couch, grabbed our brand new puppy, and took her outside to potty. “Go potty, Dolly! Go potty!” I said with a new found zest and zeal. “this is the day you will be house broken Dolly, I believe in you, you can do it!” What do you know, it worked. Dolly pooped with a vengeance I had never seen before. Coach Holtz is a genius. I take back everything I have ever said bad about him ……. that man is one helluva motivator. With that kind of motivation, watch out for Michigan this week.
Some really fishy lines out there. In the SEC you have Bama(-3.5) @ Vandy, UGA(-4) v. So. Car. and LSU (-12.5) v. Va. Tech. None of those feel right to me, it seems that Vegas is begging you to take Bama, UGA and Tech, so I’ll lay off of those.
1. MIZZOU -6 @ OLE MISS Both the Rebels and the Tigers held on for victories last week when they should have cruised. While Ole Miss is better, they still have big issues at QB with a walk-on starting. In CFB, QB is huge, especially when you play against good competition. Mizzou QB C. Daniel is the real deal and should be able to pass on Ole Miss. Ole Miss will be fired up for the game, but it does not have enough horses to run with the favorite in the Big 12 North. Remember they got hammered last year 38-7. Mizzou 31 Ole Miss 20.
2. TCU +9.5 @ TEXAS Texas had trouble running the ball on Ark. St. last week. This week they face a very good front 7 in the Horned Frogs. The OL at Texas is in disarray and they also have a suspension or two they are dealing with. TCU is not an offensive juggernaut by any means, but I like catching a bunch of points with a team that is playing its biggest game against in-state Goliath. DE T. Blake is questionable which would hurt TCU, but I still like them to cover. Texas 21 TCU 16
3. IND. +1 v. W. MICH. The wrong team is favored in this one. The Hoosiers are a decent team with a very capable QB in K. Lewis. The Broncos had trouble with P. White of WVA last week and Lewis should be able to pick up yds. both on the ground and through the air. On the other hand W. Mich. has QB issues removing the starter in the 3rd quarter last week. Indiana’s weakness is in the secondary, but with issues at QB the Broncos will not be able to exploit it. Indiana 35 W. Mich 27
Good Luck!

agree with you on those fishy lines with bama and georgia. i think that s.cackalacky and vandy can win these games outright, despite the initial results of week 1.
spurrier’s been laying in the weeds, and i think he gets georgia this weekend. vandy may spoil saban’s return to the sec….remember, saban should’ve lost on the road at lexington in that famous hail mary game….with a lot better matchup. he’s extremely overrated in my opinion. bama could get worse before it gets better.
Where the hell are you at? Uruguay?
Bama loses
I gotta to go with UGA
