Is Ole Miss better than UT?
It would certainly seem so…
Since the Rebs gave UF much more of a game than the Vols…

Croom is doing his part to stay around. On the flip-side is 0, but moral victories do count in Oxford.
as a gator fan, i’m concerned about the defense. made orgeron look like don coryell. l$u could get medieval on my boy tebow, not so much as a result of the natural order of things, but because florida’s lack of defensive pressure could put the squeeze on the offense to press against probably the finest defense in the land.
on the other hand, thank you ole miss, for reminding a young gator defense that the thrashing of the vols was as much tenn. bumbling than any sort of domination. i mean no disrespect to the vols/fulmer, as i think that they simply played shoddy in that game. we’re not that much better than tenn…
in the end, florida is no better than 5 or 6 right now…..but, ahem, they would mop the floor with that weak-ass inbred team from the big least.
I’ve been saying it for years, Miss St has a very good defense, but you can’t keep going 3 & out and expect them to keep up with teams. The LSU game was an aberration, if you look at their schemes, they play excellent defense! Croom has done an outstanding job when you think about what he has to work with. The top talent in Miss doesn’t stay in Miss, they go to bigtime programs, Ole Miss gets what’s leftover, and Miss St get what’s leftover from the leftovers.
As for the UF defense, they will be fine, they’ll take their lumps and keep on rolling. As a whole, If you look the secondary Major Wright & Joe Haden played outstanding defense from a coverage standpoint. Major made a freshman mistake and didn’t get over the top fast enough, and Haden got beat at the line by a more seasoned WR. Most of it is attributed to a lack of a pass rush, but that’s to be expected. I’m not really sold on Wondy Pierre-Louis, but he’s playing because of injuries to Markihe Anderson & Markus Manson. It’s obvious teams have found a weakness in the offense which is why you’re seeing them sit back in a deeper zone and forcing Tebow to take the underneath routes. Tenn did this really well for a portion of the game against UF, and Ole Miss exploited it to perfection, which is why you saw Brandon James begin to take snaps at the RB position. I like the defense so far, but I see it for what it is, a young talented defense that is learning on the job.
