Couchburning prohibited in Tampa?

Hey Homos’, I am in Florida for the game.  Look for me tonight on the Deuce!!!  High 5s all around!!

…we either earn it Friday night or we are never going to have it!  Last year we lost to this team at home with Pat White and Steve Slaton hurting and RRod in the midst of the Alabama thing…enough distraction to last a life time.

It was obvious from the play calling and the lack of emotion that the team was in a funk.

This year we are ranked 5th in the country and we are playing a team ranked 18th and yet they are being picked to win!

If this isn’t enough inspration for a team I do not know what is!

This team will either prove that it is worthy of respect…or we will be dealt a major setback that will take a long time to over come!

I believe we get it done…

What? Who’s picking WVU to lose? I’ve seen maybe one or two people pick USF.

I’m as big a WVU fan as anybody, but beating USF isn’t going to exactly send shock waves through the country and put WVU on the map as a legit team. As long as the Big East is the Big East, people will always question my Mountaineers.

  3. 2007 September 28

I don’t know, right now South Florida is a more legit team than WVU.

As a lifetime Floridian, I welcome you to our Great State! Please enjoy the sunny skies, hot women, indoor plumbing and electricity!

    Umm….or not.

Further proof the Big East is irrelevent…

Biggest conference game of the year is relegated to the Duece in favor of Brewers baseball on the prime channel…

  7. 2007 September 28

    Good point, ‘hippy.

  8. 2007 September 28

    @sexualtrex

Look at the teams they have beaten. How many ranked opponents have the ‘eers taken down? How many tough road games have they had? Marshall? Maryland? Two teams from terrible conferences.

USF took down Auburn @ home while the Tigers were ranked #17. In a night game.

That’s all well and good, but it doesn’t mean a team isn’t quality just because their schedule isn’t front loaded with powerhouses.

And out of curiosity, why does it matter that the USF/AU game was a night game. Do you get bonus points if the moon is out or something?

Only if you’re West Virginia and you’re at home, then you can prove to the world the electricity does flow through that state.

The deuce must need to drive up it viewers. Why else would a WVU game be on? To drive up the numbers

  14. 2007 September 28

the question was legit, not quality. Legit comes from standing up to a test where the outcome isn’t a sure thing from the start and then winning it. Where you are the underdog and you still come out with the win.

Why does it matter with a night game? Auburn fans use the excuse when their team loses (like to Miss. St. and Arkansas last year) That their team has trouble getting up for a morning game. The fans aren’t as into it as tailgating is only fun if you start at 7 and have 10 hours to drink.

“The deuce must need to drive up it viewers”…

    Actually, TBone…

All cable providers include ESPN in their basic package…

But not all include ESPN2 in the basic package…

Therefore the game would reach more viewers on ESPN…

Putting it on ESPN2 actually limits the number of viewers and shows that Brewers baseball is deemed more important to the ESPN viewing audience than a Big East football game…

Sexualtrex, you are clearly unaware of the power of the SEC night game. It may not matter in lesser conferences (ie, the Big East), but it does in the SEC. LSU prefers to play its home games at night; they might have accomodated CBS by moving the South Carolina game to daylight (thereby giving the Fighting Superiors a ghost of a chance), but there was no way the LSU-UF game would have been played at anytime other than the blackness of night. ( I believe that Tiger fans at home have already started drinking for next Saturday at 8:28 pm.)
Po’ WVU needs to upgrade its out of conference schedule. It’s not just “not frontloaded” with pwerhouses, it’s a joke that will result in a slide to the Sun Bowl if WVU loses two games. You are watching the result of WVU not playing quality teams right now.

Wow… if Auburn barely lost to USF, WVU must be a really bad team…

I’m worried about the AngryEer. I can’t imagine what its like to have your national title hopes crushed by a team that didn’t exist 12 years ago.
(At least Appy State had been around for a long time when they beat Michigan.)

    Angry Eer,

UF grad 1986 (just wanted to be clear)

Been on this site for about 6 months reading your highly edjumacated opinions of WVU and college football and all I can add is that if the 4th best team in the state of Florida (and that is certainly open to debate) plays that badly and still beats your boyz, you should go back to your holler and burn a couch to the Godz of West Fuckin Virginia football and pray that Noel (I could have played at UF, but I couldn’t qualify) Devine has the juice to keep you guys in the national picture next year ’cause your boyz don’t seem to be able to get it done this year

“At least Appy State had been around for a long time when they beat Michigan.”

Nice…that’s was harsh, I wanna try and top it.

I wonder if that car can double as a hearse since West Virginia’s title hopes have officially died. ;)
