Easy Gators, like Corso said: Florida was looking ahead to LSU

That mesmerizing mole above Herban Meyer’s left eye twitched, throbbed and smoked some weed.

(Tebow just missed blocking this kick. He was just off to the right side)

What everyone is failing to see, is that Herban Meyer is an offensive genius, the numbers tonight don’t reflect his plan. Sure he was a 20 point favorite, but he lost to Auburn last year too. He knows that he is on glidepath to New Orleans. Gators, trust in Herban. He knows what he is doing. Repeatedly running Tebow up the middle? This is all part of the elaborate deception plan for LSU.

Tim Tebow, Florida Quarterback and soon to be cover-boy of Honcho magazine [link], never limbered up his talented and prolific left hand, Meyer made the call to hold him back, careful not too show too much offense with the LSU game coming up. Meyer instead used his George Gipper SingleWing offense to pound away at Auburns’ starfishes without mercy, leaving the Tigers windsocks tattered, sore and cheapened by the experience. Tebow wore away at the Tiger defense like a grindstone wearing away something which requires grinding, but in the end, it was simply not enough when he failed to block either of the Barns successful field goals at the end of the game.

Now one would think with 7 future All-American/All-Pro’s in the starting line up, Florida would just go out and keep on scoring 50 per game. Oh no, not Meyer, he decided to play conservative, ball control offense, and keep the game close and exciting. Play cat and mouse with Tubberville. Show that old relic of yesteryears’ SEC wars what the “new kid on the block” was all about. That Herban could turn “it” on whenever he was ready.

Herban just wasn’t ready to turn “it” on tonight. Always thinking of the next game, Meyer needs harness the synergy and momentum of this loss to ‘surge’ to Baton Rouge and to match wits with another master, Les Miles.

Despite the schemes to defeat the Gators, there is still a silver lining and his name is Tim Tebow. Tebow is obviously the greatest quarterback in SEC history. Meyer is so confident in Tebow’s ability that he chose to lose the game, rather than give upcoming opponent LSU a sneak peek at Tebow’s greatness. Knowing that Florida still must face FSU, South Carolina, LSU and UGA, Meyer made the calculated decision to keep the wide open passing attack hidden and catch these teams by surprise. These tactically sound and strategic maneuvers will place Meyer’s name among those of Landry, Rockne, Vermeil and Custer.

  1. great article jai….bernstein-esque effort in journalism….the gators are merely waiting in the wings for the bayou bengals….

  2. Yes, Florida is clearly sandbagging Les Miles. Brilliant work

  3. Yes, Meyer has a plan…

Fortunately, for the Gators it involved hanging half a hundred on the Vols…

  4. @4 Did Florida play Tennessee last night? I thought they lost to Auburn. 19 point faves and the revenge thing. What do the Vols have to do with that? L O L

  5. @5 did WFVU play Florida this weekend? I thought they lost to USF. Big East favorites and the revenge thing. What does Florida have to do with that? (I refuse to use LOL)

  6. Meyer’s plan involves a season long coordinated effort in the hopes of winning the games he desires…

So in the total scheme of things…

The 50+ points hung on the Vols is actually the warning of what happens if you don’ t go along with the plan and play a defense that is actually goin gto challenge the Gators…

  7. Actually..

Play defense that is NOT going to challenge the Gators…

  8. And, Eer…

Couple of notes from the the game on Friday…

WVU has folded like 8 year old orphan girls when facing the hard hitting Bulls defenses the last two seasons…

Didn’t White go out of that game last season with an “injury” as well?

    Or was that Slaton?

    Speaking of White…

After he went out and Brown got settled, WVU moved the ball much better…

QB controversy will be revving up if White has to sit a few games because of his “injury”…

Anybody else note the look on Devine’s face after he got punished by Moffet and two other Bulls DBs after his first carry…

    Pure terror…

  9. 19 point faves, at home, revenge, Tebow.

Your mirrors just got broken amongst the smoke. Exposed

    L

    O

    L

  10. “Your mirrors just got broken amongst the smoke. Exposed”

Why are you throwin’ bricks through you glass house, Eer…

  11. I can see the panes of glass in my house. Florida faces a real (almost real) BCS team and loses. Meyer should get his money back, that SEC crew didn’t seal the win

  12. Well, obviously Auburn is better than WVU…

Seeing as how they took USF to the wire…

Which USF is a SEC team playing in the BE…

The Eers are already slipping back into mediocrity…

We’ll see the OrphanEers in ten to twelve years when they’re good enough to blow their MNC chances again…

  13. Gator: MSU>Barn>Florida

Very soon I suspect that the equation will look like this: WVU>MSU>Barn>Florida

  14. And USF is obviously better than all of those…

    So what’s your point?
