   “Jackleg”. Didn’t know anyone else used that word besides me and my dad. I called my wife a “jackleg” the other day and she said, “what’s that?”

   I long for the days of ‘Nique and Spud Webb. Todays product is a sad, sad sight indeed. And it’s a shame too. Atlanta is self titled as “Black Hollywood” and ripe for the NBA demographic, but poor management decisions and personnel moves and the untimely trade of Dominique Wilkins for Danny Manning years ago have cursed this organization.

   Now, lets all gather around and watch the Braves not make a decent pickup this off-season.

   look don’t misunderstand, i pull for as many shitty teams as anyone i know…the hawks just isn’t one i hear very often.

   C’mon fellas, the Hawks are on the up-and-up. They drafted Al Horford. Not only is he a Gator, but we all know he’s played great in Atlanta over the past 2-3 seasons!

   jai i thought you were the urban dictionary guru. my brother and i throw this phrase around pretty frequently as well. a “jackleg” is somewhere in the neighborhood of “jackass”…yet slightly different. synonyms: wingnut.

   “that coach fran is a fucking jackleg/wingnut for publishing his little ‘vip newsletter.’”

    i checked…and it is. a couple of them agree with my definition. as usual some of them are “outliers.”

    Al Horford will not save the Atlanta Hawks. He may have done well with another team, but he will be a flop in Atlanta. Atlanta has a unique way of getting as little talent as possible out of talented players.

    I was hoping Horford would have landed with the Grizzlies. Oh well…

    The Hawks have all the tools in place: large metro area, unique arena, nice cheerleaders, young talent. Why have they not done anything??? Is it coaching??? Lack of true point guard??? Leadership under former Vancouver/Memphis GM Billy Knight???
