I don’t like Saban. I am an AU guy. But you cannot say he accomplished nothing. I think we can compete with him, but we have to deal with reality.

Zook deserves practically zero credit for the UF championship, as DiNardo deserves no real credit as LSU. You may recall the silly spectacle of Bill Curry – that coaching mastermind – attempting mightily to take credit for NCs at both Georgia Tech and Alabama. I’ll never forget Curry at halftime of a GT game tryting to take all the credit for Bobby Ross’ success. What a lame moron Curry is . . . .

Gerry DiNardo deserves as much credit for the 2003 LSU NC as Ron Zook deserves for the 2006 UF NC.

Again, all you have to do as a recruiter at LSU is prevent the talent from leaving the state. When you can keep that talent AND dip into the Houston area, southern Mississippi, and the AL and FL panhandles it helps too.

i agree 100%, but up until saban noone was getting the job done. peyton manning, warrick dunn, marshall faulk, ike hilliard, troy edwards, reggie wayne. some were highly touted…some weren’t…but just a few studs from louisiana (off the top of my head) who DIDN’T go to lsu in the 90′s.
