I really think that USC, UF and LSU are the best teams in the country. I have seen Cal play and I think they suck
I really dislike ranking any Big 10 team in the top 10. And what if, just what if, South Florida is the best team in Florida?
| Rank | Team | Delta |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | LSU | – |
| 2 | Florida | 2 |
| 3 | California | 4 |
| 4 | Southern Cal | 2 |
| 5 | Boston College | – |
| 6 | Ohio State | 3 |
| 7 | Oklahoma | 1 |
| 8 | South Florida | – |
| 9 | West Virginia | 3 |
| 10 | Oregon | 3 |
| 11 | South Carolina | 2 |
| 12 | Missouri | 3 |
| 13 | Arizona State | 3 |
| 14 | Cincinnati | 5 |
| 15 | Kentucky | 4 |
| 16 | Illinois | 10 |
| 17 | Kansas | 9 |
| 18 | Florida State | 4 |
| 19 | Auburn | 7 |
| 20 | Texas | 6 |
| 21 | Purdue | 3 |
| 22 | Wisconsin | 5 |
| 23 | Tennessee | 3 |
| 24 | Georgia | 14 |
| 25 | Troy State | 1 |
Dropped Out: Rutgers (#20), Kansas State (#21), Miami (Florida) (#23), Virginia Tech (#25).

Well – you do have Auburn placed ahead of UT now which is correct. But I seriously doubt that there are 18 teams better than AU right now. I doubt that there are 5 better on defense.
“I have seen Cal play and I think they suck”
WTF? Look, you may not think they’re incredible or something, but a 5-0 team who has already beat one of your Top 10 and another of your Top 25 sucks? Really? Where’s the logic in there?
I live out here in Cali — and I work with two douche bulbs that went to Cal — that team has decent talent but Longshore and Tedford are the worst two people on that team at what they do — and that’s bad. They will blow it when the chips are down — but shit — I said that about Miles and look what happened. As far as the Bulls — Don’t. Ever. Bet. On. A. big. least. Team. Ever. They’re new to that dance and are a Cinderella, but I’m also not sure they have the talent to pull it anything big off. They’re just another big least team beating up on a bunch of chicks. And you can try all the UF — Auburn — USF triangulation you want — still don’t add up. By that math the Burns should’ve been in the top 10 last year.
@2 Powerful young Longshore is a penned up stallion under the thumb of the cruel Tedford
Cal blows, Pac 10 sucks
T KGB
I think you insulted my conference in that jibber jabber comment
A team loses to a 40 point underdog and they fall to 4?
Team loses 2 straight and they are number 2 in the counttry here . . .hey AU has lost 2 and BEAT the number 2 team (on this page) AT THEIR HOME STADIUM by this reckoning . . .by my AU math that makes Auburn numero uno!
Yeah Jai, you heaux meaux, you got some splaining to do, papi
Angy — you’re just pissed cause — well, other than being from West Virgeenya, your team is done and your conference is done. Done and done. No Heisman — no title. So much expectations and you get squat. Shit, you might as well be a Gator fan.
I have not seen USC play, i wish i had left them at 3. I have seen cal play, i can’t imagine that they are better than USC
LSU and UF are the 2 best teams that I have seen play. Why should I move them? They would beat the shit out of almost everyone below them
“I have not seen USC play, i wish i had left them at 3. I have seen cal play, i can’t imagine that they are better than USC”
Good god, are you serious? You haven’t seen USC play, ok fine… but you are aware that they lost at home to 40+ point underdog 1-3 Stanford, right? And that Cal, just a couple weeks ago, went on the road to the loudest stadium in the country and beat at-the-time undefeated Oregon *who you currently rank as the 10th team in the nation*, yet you “can’t imagine” Cal being better than USC?
Do you *watch* football?!
Cal went to LSU and played Oregon at Death Valley?
Yes, Cal will lose to USC. I do watch football, so that eliminates PAC 10 from the menu
I can’t imagine why you are bringing PAC 10 smack talk to an SEC blog.
Ummmm….Oregon Ducks? Autzen Stadium? Loudest? You’re kidding, right? Talk to Slive and Bertman…arrange a match of each of the PAC-10 in every one of the SEC stadiums. Even Orgeron would give them a game. Loudest stadium, indeed. Include Fresno State and Hawaii in your conference, work out a PAC-10 Championship game, then come back and schmack about who your best of the best is.
As if I’m the only one who thinks the Autzen Zoo is the loudest in the country… to quote The Michigan Daily after the Wolverine’s upset loss to Oregon in September of 2003:
“Autzen’s 59,000 strong make the Big House sound like a pathetic whimper. It’s louder than ‘The Swamp’ at Florida, ‘The Shoe’ in Columbus, and ‘Death Valley’ at Louisiana State. Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die.”
And save that conference title game whimpering crap. You’re in the minority, with just four of the 11 D-1A conferences using title games, and it’s not like the ACC and Big XII are gonna match up with anyone this year. Everyone in the Pac-10 plays everyone else in the Pac-10… there’s no hiding from our strongest teams. And sure, the Pac has Stanford and Washington and Arizona, but the SEC has Ole Miss and Vandy and Miss State… so what? Every conference has strong teams and weak teams.
It’s too bad there was just one SEC v. Pac-10 matchup on the schedule this year. Even worse for you kids that you lost it.
Then let us all form a circle and pray. Pray that somehow someway cal can overcome tedford and powerful young longshore’s best efforts and remain unbeaten. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to see Cal play Florida or LSU or another rematch with tennessee.
Remember the asswhipping in knoxville? that is what will happen to cal in a bcs bowl
The fact that you are quoting an article about crowd noise written by someone from Michigan is the fatal flaw there genius. I got theory of relativity over here for you to solve once you’re done displaying your intelligence on college football. That’ll only take a mind of your calibre a day so after that it’s on to curing cancer and feeding that starving girl in that Brazilian slum I see on tv.
And how in the hell would anyone at Michigan know about Death Valley or The Swamp since they are too chickenshit to ever come south?!?!?!!??!!
“Per capita, Autzen is the loudest venue in all of college football…”
Autzen seats 54 or 55 thousand.
In the opinion of J Brady McCullough it is louder than all of those other stadiums. IMO I’ve been to death valley and I didn’t think it was that loud, but they were hosting a terrible 4-6 Arkansas team in ’05 in their defense.
“And how in the hell would anyone at Michigan know about Death Valley or The Swamp since they are too chickenshit to ever come south?!”
My thoughts exactly, LSUJoshua.
The Big House and The ‘Shoe (in Columbus) are the quietest 100,000+ stadiums in the nation. I guess their fans are too cold and bored to yell.
Ask Orson which stadium he thinks is the loudest then come back and tell me about crowd noise in a 54,000+ venue.
I was actually disappointed with the noise level this past weekend in Death Valley…
I have heard it much louder in there and really expected more…
Jai, after what Miles said about the Pac-10 in the preseason, I hope beyond hope that Cal and LSU end up together in the national championship game.
Nothing will be sweeter than beating the crap out of the eauxverrated Tigers in their own backyard.
Like I said, I prayed for it this morning.
Dr. Dumbass — I’ve been up to Eugene and — not impressed. Granted, it was back in the late ’90s when they sucked — but even in the Wac 10, it’s pretty understood that the Eugen isn’t even the toughest place in Oregon to play season in and season out — Corvallis (where countless teams have been dethroned, most recently So. Cal.) is the toughest. And, Vandy draws 59k so you better come stronger than that. I work with Cal bonejobs here and they all think they’re going to The Game and that they can’t be beat and blah blah blah. You can always tell fans of teams that have never won a title — they live in the now and are invincible. And they talk about sports like swimming and Rugby. Whatever. Beat So. Cal and beat the Huskies in Seattle – then we’ll talk. You want to hear a loud stadium — there could be a pandemic in Knoxville as far as I’m concerned — so I hate to give Vols fans props — but Neyland is deafening. And The Swamp, shit — when we blocked that kick against USC last year it blurred my vision it was so loud. Wac 10 is just the Western big least. Solid top 3 teams and Pop Warner from there down. They called Jackson “the most electrifying player in the country” the other day on a broadcast here. Ha. Solid player – but he would be the third option on the Gators.
