Sure SECPoon.com-website killer Nick Saban with the pretty feathered angel winged bangs is a pretty smart feller (or a pretty fart smeller). But he would be but a mere mortal in using the play challenge option compared to Bear Bryant. When Saban can cheat using prostitutes, unfiltered cigarettes and brown bags of money and booze to sway game decisions then he is “big-time”.
A statement from the Southeastern Conference issued after the game blamed replay official Doyle Jackson (who is from Birmingham) for making the call. In Jackson’s judgment, the statement said, “the receiver stepped out of bounds on his own. Also, the replay official ruled the receiver touched the football first, thereby making it an illegal touch.” [read Saban Sees All]. Take a look at the video replay from the Ole Miss and Bammeroid game.
If the receiver is forced out of bounds, he can re-enter the playing field and become an eligible receiver. If the receiver runs out of bounds on his own (which Doyle Jackson ruled), then he cannot be the first player who touches the ball upon re-entering the playing field.
Once again, though, the competency and integrity of SEC officials is called into question. With umpires baiting players, and NBA refs taking money from gamblers, why should we expect SEC officials to be pure?

Wow. Either way, I don’t see how that’s not a catch. It appeared he was forced out and it also appeared that he wasn’t the first to touch the ball. Indisputable evidence huh? Nice that the Menstrual Tide is getting love like that from the penguins. Fuck Alabama. That’s a garbage call.
No way he was the first person to touch the ball. Bammer strikes again!
If I was Saban I would resign for being out-coached by The 0. $4 million coach my ass.
I’m with you guys. I watched the game and I don’t see how that wasn’t a catch. IMO, it appears that both the defender and the receiver catch the ball but the receiver wrestles it away / has the better grip on the ball. What a shitty call.
With apologies to all the geniuses on here, I have looked at this play several times (pausing the action and going frame by frame).
Three points emerge.
1) Anyone who says they can look at the film and say the receiver was forced out of bounds is full of crap, Plainly and without question (via frame-by-frame examination) the receiver is out of bounds WHEN HE APPEARS ON FILM. No doubt. This bit of evidence is indisputable.
2) By virture of point numero uno above, the evidence CANNOT be indisputable that he went out on his own – so that would argue against overturning the call on the field.
3) As to who touched the ball first, this is also – even under frame by frame exam – murky. So see point two above.
I would not have overturned this if I had been the official _ it would have been Ole Miss ball, 7 seconds left.. I do take exception to those who seem to feel that the reciver was “forced out of bounds” based on the film: there is no evidence of that on this film. But I think there is not enough evidence to overturn the original riuling on the field.
#4, Even if it is “murky” (that’s such a Bammer word, what’s really murky is your “twelve” NCs), there has to be indisputable evidence to overturn the original call on the field that resulted in Ole Miss having the ball. There is none.
Even Orgeron could have figured out to kick a FG after that situation.
So, we all agree. ‘Bama deserves to be cast to hell, Bat Shit got screwed and the call should’ve stayed as called on the field. We’ll see how big this plays later in the season but I won’t bitch too much now as ‘Bama has no shot to do anything this year.
Tacos – I AGREE with you . . .didn’t you notice? I said that the call on the field should NOThave been overturned.
My reasoning was that there was no clear evidence. I don’t think it is possible from the film to say if the receiver was forced out or if he touched the ball first.
TBST
The language trick worked. I take it that you are fully operational?
I’m good to hook. No problems on this end.
classic shit. I am still blocked, on this site and gmail
There may be more to this replay conspiracy theory than just Ole Miss bitching…

Sandroni said he was aware that Jackson was the replay official before he made his pregame comments. Back in 1994, Sandroni said, Jackson had made a controversial call against Ole Miss in a loss to Memphis.
“He’s been involved in some things,” he said, “but I’m not saying he had it in for Ole Miss or anything. It was just a coincidence that he was the replay official this weekend.”
To give yall a little background, Stan Sandroni is probably the only person associated with Ole Miss that doesn’t see everything in a red and blue hue. Word on the street is that he was pissed when they let Cut go and hired a guy with no HC experience to lead a SEC team. He could be the smartest person in Oxford for never jumping on the 0 bandwagon.

Lot of stuff going on around Alabama today…..
First off, talked to SEC supervisor of officials Rogers Redding a few minutes ago and he said the instant replay official at the Ole Miss game made the correct call in overturning the pass completion to the Tide 4 with seven seconds left
Paul Gattis is the Bammer homer and UAT beat reporter for the Huntsville Times. Nice try Bammer.
actually, fuck that, here’s a tennesee story…

It never takes long for the Bammer’s to show their true colors.
Even though the call is questionable, dont forget that we did not score points of turnovers when we should have and put that game away! It is unfortunate that it came down to that particular play but there were several other factors involved here including a blown whistle while a play is in mid air in the act of fumbling that cost us (ole miss) a recovered fumble.
Down right shameful display all around!
sorry, points off turnover
I have no pony in this race but it was a bad call. No evidence to over turn it at all. I do not even know if this type of play is reviewable in the NFL or not
