1. Ohio State; 2. South Florida; 3. Boston College; 4. LSU; 5. Oklahoma; 6. South Carolina; 7. Kentucky; 8. Arizona State; 9. West Virginia; 10. Oregon; 11. Virginia Tech; 12. California; 13. Kansas; 14. Southern Cal; 15. Florida; 16. Missouri; 17. Auburn; 18. Hawaii; 19. Virginia; 20. Georgia
This shit fails the common sense test. Has anyone actually seen VT play? Does on the field sucking factor into the formula? VT might suck worse than Ohio State. Hawaii? Virginia? Georgia? All of those teams are in the WTF category…
At least Kent State seems to be impressed with Ohio State…
Another interesting conference by conference comparison:
Average (per team) score of the Harris and Coaches Poll:
Pac-10: 0.2643
SEC: 0.2628
Big East: 0.2114
Big 12: 0.1769
ACC: 0.1396
Big 10: 0.1170
Average (per team) score of the computer polls:
SEC: 0.3408
Big East: 0.2175
Pac-10: 0.1900
ACC: 0.1800
Big 12: 0.1483
Big 10: 0.827
A few things stand out:
1. The pollsters consider the SEC and Pac-10 to be pretty evenly matched. To the computers, the SEC is by far the best conference in the land, and the Pac-10 is only slightly above the ACC.
2. The Big 10 is just plain awful by both measures.
