They locked up a coaching talent and prevented him from a return to LSU (unless, and this is a big unless, LSU wants to spend in the 10′s of millions to hire him away) and other schools in the SEC, like Arkansas, will be driven to pick only the very best coaches out there, and it will come at a premium. Saban’s hiring should pay off for Alabama in the long run, and for the SEC as well.
