“This team has not lost a game in regulation. I know it does not mean much to you guys (media.) The point is, in a 60 minutes game, we play as competitive as we can be. There is not a team that we have played that has bested us in the first 60 minutes. If you had to look at the length and width of the game, that is how it is measured. Then you go to overtime, and I think our overtime system is just as flawed as any other overtime system. It’s just the way it is and it is probably correct. You have to decide it then where it takes the length of the field and certain situations out of it. It is imperfect, but a darn good system. You tell me if there are other teams in this country that can say that. If you just give us ties, like in the old system, we are undefeated with two ties. Maybe that adds up as one loss.” [link]
This guy is fucked up.
Assuming that LSU goes on to win the SEC championship game, it only had to have
won any one of six overtime periods vs. mediocre teams — three of which were played before its home crowd — in order to get a berth in the national title game.
LSU was kindly allowed to lose one of its first three overtime periods without forfeiting its right to a #1 ranking. However, it could not even outscore an unranked opponent in three overtimes at home with the full knowledge that its national title hopes were on the line. Is that what “CHAMPIONS” do? Should they just get to keep playing until they become the champion, and then we stop the games?
The Tigers were incredibly lucky to beat a less than mediocre Alabama team that lost to the Louisiana Monroe Fighting Nutria and could not beat the Auburn team that lost at home to “lowly” USF of the Big East. The Tigers were incredibly lucky to beat that same Auburn team, as well as a overrated three-loss Florida team. The Tigers were whipped by a Kentucky team that escaped a loss to “lowly” Louisville of the Big East in that game’s final minute. Oh yes, WVU had a 31-0 early second quarter lead on the Mississippi State team that beat Auburn, Kentucky and Alabama.
LSU dodged four bullets (a loss and three near-losses) and got three home overtimes to try and dodge a fifth. No one – Les Miles included – can cry that they did not have their fair shot. Three times from the 25 yard line. At home. Against Arkansas. With the crowd. With momentum.
Yes, it is a daggone shame. Suck it and learn the lyrics to Country Roads, Coon ass.

Have to agree that Miles comes up with some pretty crazy shit sometimes, and this may take the cake. I would agree that we have been overrated, and at times, quite lucky, but you might want to back up a on this “common opponent” theory you’re working. After all, we beat the shit out of Miss St too, and on the road. You beat Cincy by what, 5? And you really beat the crap out that same Louisville team, at your house, in a real defensive classic. And where is USF now?
We had our shots, and we blew it, I agree. I give WVU all the credit, and your current position is well deserved, just grab a little class and try to act like you’ve been here before. You’ve had a little luck of your own this year.
The AR-Kansas comments really paid off in spades
@1 we own that SEC ass. I will concede that SEC teams are more of challenge to defeat.
@3 focus on your task at hand before you flame. In this wild ass season, nothing is a given.
As Art said, we blew it. We had two bites at the apple and lost it. Part of me kind of would like to see Miles go, pretty much for stupid shit like the above. Plus, it looked as though Pelini had his mind elsewhere.
Anyway, if your Eers do make it down here, then i suggest you have a meal at Galatoire’s. Bring a jacket if you own one.
I will wear a jacket made of corndog asswhippings. NOLA will give me a key to the city for cleaning up the riff-raff
@3 You beat one lower tier SEC team, and all of the sudden you “own” the league? That must be some high quality shit you grow in the hills…
I dare your mentally deficient ass to post the BE vs SEC record.
I will wait while you search. I bet you never comment here again
AngryEer – your inferiority complex does not become your otherwise reasonable football team. C’mon – gimme some of that random vulgarity that you seem to think is funny.
I forgot to add that WVU would have 3, maybe 4 losses in the SEC, particularly if they were in the SEC West. Just an opinion. Flame away, AngryOne.
wow, Jai just posted….that is going to leave a mark on the coon ass:

Oh and let me know if you want our record against the former Big East with Miami and the like, because we own them, too.
that site is BS and you know it
@7 I have no idea but I’m sure it must be in your favor, otherwise you wouldn’t bring it up. But here I am commenting again.

AngryEer, as a New Orleans native, I fear for your safety if you bring that attitude. I’m serious. The cops, bouncers, and random citizens will crack your skull wide open or shoot you.
It’s good to see a native to the shit hole agrees with the rest of the nation.. Trash.. and the place looks and smells like shit.
It’s sad for what happened, and great it was rebuilt, but that place needed a pressure wash from mother nature.
