A national title game between Missouri and West Virginia would have shaken up the BCS a lot more than them losing today. Even though we don’t know who’s going to be playing for the championship now, the only choices left are all perennial powerhouse schools. The status quo is secure.

On to more important things…can LSU justifiably jump UGA? Yes LSU did make it to the title game, but won unimpressively. UGA had their 1 slip up vs UT that killed their shot…or so it appeared. LSU lost to AK and fell too far down. I can appreciate the argument either way but I just don’t buy the win over UT allow LSU to jump that high.

And given a crack at the title by only beating a terrible Pitt squad, at home, they failed to rise even to that ridiculously low standard.
Again, the only thing the ACC’s raid of the Big East did was create two shitty football conferences. I don’t give a damn what ranking the No. 1 team in either league has.

29, I think the more relevant embarrassment for #19 is the failure of his UGA squad to hold a 28-point lead against WVU in the 2005 Sugar, thereby subjecting the more talented SEC programs to 2 years of “Country Roads” and other foolishness from the Oregon of the Big East. Let’s hope they don’t repeat the gailure against Hawaii.
WVU was the one with the big lead, Georgia came back and made it respectable in the end. WV jumped on them early, gimmick offense and whatnot, and by the time thUGA made the adjustments they couldn’t get completely come back from being down 28-0 in the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Final was something like 38-35? I’m sure Eer will correct me if i’m wrong about the score. And probably flame my reasoning.
