Which time? When he left Miami, or Baton Rouge?

Still, I'm OK with it in either case, it's just a career move.

Wow, I thought that Angry Eer actually asked a good question, of which would be considered worse, lying or quitting?

Hard to say

And anyone who says Saban didn't lie is fucked up

I understand what you mean tidefanintn, but I was set-off by that idiot's usage of "retarded." If you're going to make fun of someone, calling them a "retard" is not the way to do it. People with Down's Syndrome cannot help the fact that they have it, and his post bothered me mainly because of that sole reason.

Relax, Tom. They can't provide a salient argument because the point of this isn't to moralize about what an upstanding coach looks like, it's to demonize Nick Saban for coaching at Alabama. It's pretty easy to dismiss anyone who uses the expression "Bammer" because it's a meaningless knock that's intended to be hurtful but doesn't have any basis in anything negative.

The difference is that Saban, like practically all coaches who have ever changed jobs, told a lie to the media (Tubs did it, whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Fran did it. Nutt did it. Rich Rodriquez did it. It happens everywhere). Keep in mind, he didn't lie to his players or to his employers, just the media (which means us, too, of course). And it was just that one. Don't give me that nonsense about how his reason for it doesn't matter and that parents should protect their children from his influence. Unless of course you never told your child there was a Santa Claus. But in your mind, that's a justifiable lie, right? The bottom line here is that the world wants to hate Nick Saban for feeding into what the rest of college football feels is Crimson Delusion. We were supposed to be idiotic for thinking he would coach the Tide, remember? So rather than eat that crow, the rest of college football would rather say he's a bad man, and then everyone outside the Tide Nation got what basically amounts to chocolate-covered orgasm--they could hate the man who led the program they hate. Sad State's response is dead on. What's pathetic is that people are hanging on to something so stupid a year later.
