Criminoles Get Caught

2007 December 18
by 3rd Down H-Back

Hell yes for Kentucky.  They did so well this early season that it sucked to see perennial bottom-dweller fall back down to its place in the SEC East.  They even had a Heisman candidate for a couple of weeks.

F$U will be suspending 25 players for the Music City Bowl, including 11 who are worth a damn.  This is the break Kentucky needs to ensure a nice end to a promising season and most importantly, to show the SEC dominance over the non-superior conferences.  If our basketball school can pwn the ACC’s historically dominant football school it will once again show our place atop the football world.

During this bowl season we must represent a united front against all non-SEC teams.  (Here comes my Saban-esque analogy) I think of the SEC like NATO, yeah there are some countries or schools I don’t like, but if a non-NATO country fucks with a NATO country, its on.  I even do this with LSU, UAT, and MSU.  It is hard sometimes, but I do it.  I encourage you all to do to same.

Free Shoes University is in for a long night in Trashville. The best part about watching the noles is when they pan to Bowden on the sideline. The guy has no idea of what is happening in the game. He is just hoping not to soil himself on the sideline.

No, I haven’t reached “super moderator” status, I’m just one of your run-of-the-mill scumbag Gator fans.

Gatorpilot at Orange & Blue Hue links a story from Gator Country incriminating Geno “Taze me cuz I can’t tackle Tebow” Hayes as the moron that ruined it for ALL the Noles…

    Jai:
I agree, I think FSU would’ve had their hands full with UK regardless of those 20 derelicts who are suspended. Now, it might get ugly.

    @2:
I honestly think that FSU might be pulling a “Weekend at Bernie’s-esque” hoax by keeping him propped up on the sideline.

Remember that postgame press conference about 10 or 15 years ago, where Bowden leaned back in his chair, and fell backwards? I think it was after they came back from a large deficit, maybe against Florida, only to settle for a tie rather than go for the win. Anyway, as he’s getting helped up, looking stunned, he looks to his left and says “It ain’t funny Hubert!” Then he and the whole room cracked up. If that happened today he’d probably be dead.

Just another typical year at f$u. All schools have their problem athletes, but at f$u it seems to be a way of life, the norm. They’ve been caught many times before, and good ol’ boy Bowden always ‘aw shucked’ them out of trouble with the NCAA, the police, the university, etc. Perhaps this time, the NCAA may bring the hounds in and really go after them. Wonder if Jimbo would stick around for a team on sanctions & probation?

not to ruin anyone’s fun, but here is the outdated Gator Arrest List. I know at least 3 arrests are missing from it

@15 Given Jimbo’s performance so far, I’m not sure we would even be in the BCS CG with him as OC. We are lucky to be there in the first place.

You just couldn’t help yourself, Jai, could you. You just HAD to find a way to relate past Gator arrests to a current cheating scandal at FSU. Typical.

Just be glad you’re not in that fantastic position of being the underdog yet simultaneously (somehow) the favorite.

Every real sports commentator I’ve seen has picked UCF over us, and yet I saw Lee Corso pick that as his upset special. I know we’re SEC (and proud to be part of NATO, btw), but come on! They’re a conference champ with a stat slayer runningback! And EVERYBODY’S picking them! Glad if we somehow won it would be nothing special.

Ah, the thankless job of being just another SEC team that should own everyone in the country.

I have been listing to wussie gators for awhile dreaming and waxing long about how Jimbo is going here and jimbo is going there. They can’t wish him away however. He is here to stay and it is your biggest nightmare so get used to it.

Nobody but a gator would believe Jimbo would give up the keys to the Holy Grail of college football FSU! He will be sitting astride a talent mecca unequaled in college football. Prepare for the beatdwons you know is coming gators. You are going back to the whipping post.

It is going to be just like spur dog standing there with tears in his eyes watching danny get pulverized, screaming about twisting our legs, tackling the quarterback.

FSU self- reported all this academic cheating and has been punishing all involved as they are uncovered. Now certainly no one can predict how the NCAA will act to this proactive move it would appear that FSU is procedurally following NCAA guidelines.

Before suggesting decisions the NCAA is or isn’t going to do lets first wait until the NCAA officially announces an end to the investigation.

If someone can point to a link where that has occurred I will begin to be concerned. All the comments so far are just “negative recruiting” rival talk. There is some trepidation due to the fact that T. K. Wetherell stood up to the NCAA concerning their attempt to removed the Seminole name from the school and he was backed here by the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida.

This is what the NCAA had to say concerning the University of Florida infractions which were considered very serious when they were reported some years ago.
“Unfortunately, during the five-year period in which the violations occurred,” continued Mr. Toner, “the football coaching staff operated unimpeded by any effort being exerted by the university’s director of athletics or any other administrative authority at the university to assure control of the football program. Due to this fact, as well as the serious nature of many of the violations in this case, the Committee on Infractions and the Council considered this to be among the most serious infractions cases ever processed by the NCAA.”

In 1984 Charley Pell, who was dismissed by Florida president Marshall Criser three games into the season – after the NCAA sent Florida a list of 107 alleged violations that included paying players, holding illegal practices and spying on opponents’ practices. Pell never got another college coaching job. He tried and failed to commit suicide in 1994. (He screwed that up to) Pell died of cancer in 2001 at age 60.

There current miasma concerning FSU involves a music class that 900 students took and a teacher who was handing out the answers she has been fired.

Now every school today gives computer tests to students at home. It is a strange idea because it is basically an open book test. It is mostly lower level subjects and most athletes take these subjects at every school in America.

To act as if computer or online tests can be carefully monitored is living in a dream world. The web lately has seen a stream of UF enthusiasts some posing as supporters of FSU screaming the sky is falling and FSU is getting the death penalty yada yada yada. Most would like that but I am afraid reality is beginning to set in.

There is going to be a four game suspension for twenty some odd players and that is the end of it. What we are witnessing now is nothing more than the sky is falling rhetoric from rivals during the recruiting season hoping they can pick up some FSU athletes.

Actually I think we could beat Kentucky with BB a quarterback.

At the University of Florida John Brown, Torrey Davis, and Chris Rainey are somehow now considered students while most wondered if they would even qualify. Yes they take online computer tests. Don’t expect any self reporting from the University of Florida.

Actually I think you can expect more of this:
Latest update, two gators were arrested assaulting a deli worker by throwing meat and cups at him after being caught trying to steal potatoe chips. Results pending. They won’t be in a bowl game either unless charges are dropped and covered up.

We must add to this list that free safety Tony Joiner was caught breaking into Watson’s towing company in the middle of the night to steal a car. Charges were of course lowered the day before the LSU game.

    SeminoleUprising:

Let’s see, your entire Linebacking Corps over the past couple of years has managed to get tasered and/or arrested (Sims, A.J. Nicholson – tasered twice, and Geno Hayes). 2 of those derelicts (Sims, Nicholson) have been arrested for beating up a woman. Real fuckin’ classy.

How soon you forget the entire Adrian MacPherson/Gambling/Stealing thing. An FSU Student Football Manager was his bookie! Yet somehow, some way, the NCAA let FSU off with no punishment at all. St. Bobby wins again.

But the icing on the cake has to be when St. Bobby wrote a “letter of reference” on behalf of former FSU player Michael Gibson who “attacked a woman” (an FSU student) and “shot, raped, robbed and left her for dead in her apartment a few days before Christmas in 1993.”

He received life in prison and 2 other 40 year sentences for 2 other rapes. Yet St. Bobby wrote the judge pledging his support for Gibson. Sickening! That’s your coach, Fuck-O!

There are many, many other instances of FSU run-ins with the law, but I can’t remember them all right now because I just dropped some acid and I’m having a bad trip now at this music fest……ugggghhhhh ……errrrr ……. ummmm….. I mean, I mean my Lyme Disease is acting up. Yeah, that’s it!

    Well, Nole…

While certainly the transgressions of Coach Pell were certainly pretty gaudy for their time, they set the standard for what would be considered “serious” and were largely booster related which often is out of institutional control but always within it’s accountability…

However, I suggest you peruse this NCAA press release from September when the story was first brought public…

    http://tinyurl.com/2xfz73

The overall tone of that even while complimenting Wetherell for his intensive investigation certainly does not bode well for FSU Athletics as a whole…

I believe that may be where you have failed to understand the actual overall impact of the Noles current situation…

While UF’s trangressions have largely been isolated to booster problems within the gridiron and hoops programs, this current mess at FSU is far reaching in depth and breadth across the ENTIRE athletic program as a whole…

Suspensions are simply the “tip of the iceberg” (while I could be wrong) that will sink the ship that is Nole Sports for years to come…

In Tallahassee we actually go by the law. We don’t have Ron Cervone to sweep things under the rug like Tony Joiners recent car stealing caper which was dropped just before the LSU gig. It was all for naught anyway since LSU smoked you.

I wish we could do it like Goonesville, Canesville, Gunsville whatever you are calling yourselves these days and just forget about it and play ball.

    Wow…

Not really sure what the Hogtown DA has to do with academic cheating at FSU, but I’ll respond to that…

Apprently you have one that’s just as good up there given a guy can walk out of a store with $500 worth of merchandise and still receive a misdemeanor…

So apparently, things don’t always go by the law in Tally as you would so like us to believe…

Not sure what “smoked” is in your dictionary, but in the “real world” most don’t refer to leading a game for it’s near entirety and losing on a last minute touchdown getting “smoked”…

We usually refer to score like…oh let’s say “45-12″ as getting smoked…

Where did I see a similiar score to that this season…

    Oh yeah…

In Hogtown when your test cheating team came to town…

Alot of good passing that test did the Noles this season against the Gators and the Canes…

    Hope it was worth it…
