I took full fan responsibility for UGA’s let down of all of college football for losing to the minor league ‘Eers in the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago, I still apologize for allowing that falsehood to perpetuate. Oklahoma hasn’t been quite as damning as they come from a conference nearly as impotent as the Big East, so the ‘Eers victory over the Sooners is a fart in the wind. Oklahoma loses to everybody.
It’s still our fault the ‘Eers are in any discussions involving football ability. That and Coach Rod who they now curse. Nice hire, ‘Eers, with Bill Stewart. It’s like a chick marrying a one-night stand. The chick is a “6″ but thinks she’s a “10″ and the one-night stand is a dude that hasn’t had relations, ever. Stewart and WVU are a good fit. Both are 2nd tier at best.
Back to the Sugar Bowl…. UGA did what all sane college football fans wanted them to do. Beat Hawaii with a Coke can on a string and choked them with their symbolic gestures of dominance. Their Ha’a is supposed to intimidate…….. Hawaii, you brought nothing to a gun fight against a bunch of Haoles and Papolos who have been blood brothers for quite some time. The score indicated that the game was closer than it actually was. The 5′7″ 300lb warrior offensive lineman did well against the high schools they played this year, but the “slaves”, as the so open minded islander said it, are much bigger, faster, stronger, and more football intelligent than they are. Marcus Howard, a DE that is very small by SEC standards, 6′2″, 220lbs, and has been an average pass rush threat all season with 7.5 sacks coming into the Sugar Bowl, looked like David Pollack on speed against the most “unified” group of young men in world history. Howard had 4 sacks a forced fumble and TD.
It could’ve been worse. Richt could’ve ran Brown and Moreno all night long, but chose to try to pass the ball. It seemed like Richt knew Hawaii could do nothing on offense and that the Sugar Bowl was a great opportunity for a live scrimmage. That’s what it felt like to me. Especially in the beginning of the 4th quarter when a mix of UGA’s 2nd and 3rd string offense attempted a pass play on 4th down when UGA was up 38-3 at the time. Coutou could’ve kicked an easy 3 point field goal, but Richt saw a good chance to let Joe Cox work on reading some routes.
Even funnier is that the Sugar Bowl ended with UGA’s 3rd string quarter back, Blake Barnes (junior), taking a knee in the “victory formation”. Barnes is transferring next year to Delta State in Mississippi for his Senior season to get a little playing time before his college days are up. That was Richt showing Blake a little love and a good bye gift. Kinda like letting Rudy in the game. I would imagine Barnes had to run the Hawaii offense in the Bowl Practices and probably did a much better job against UGA’s defense than Brennan did. Delta State, Hawaii, what’s the difference.
I would compare Hawaii to a really good 10 year-old basketball team playing in their league on 8ft goals. They dominate every team they play. They finish the season undefeated and get invited to play the high school varsity team on 10ft goals. They talk about their offense and ESPN talks about how their point guard is going to get them points and then the game starts.
I love it.

Nice analogy in the second paragraph.
I like..
Go Dawgs..
Hopefully those EErs will ignite a couch, while laying on it.
It must be nice to live in the past, but when you have nothing to look forward to, you can’t but help it.
Delta State could beat Hawaii
The Fightin’ Okra!
Our guidance counselor’s office had a pennant of DSU up in the office with the Boxing Okra picture on it. Fucking classic.
Not to pile on eers but I have to tell that FSU had Colorado down 16 to zip with 3 minutes left until the Mickey prevent defense let them score six and they beat Oklahoma so I would not burn too many couches over this one.
Blake Barnes: You will be missed.
people are going to boo you and just think you are some dumb n*****.
Brennan would be the 3rd string QB for the Okra…but some of those small Mississippi Delta schools put out some good QB’s and other offensive “skill” positions. Alcorn St, Miss Valley St come to mind. I’ll bet you could find a dozen QB’s out of the state of Mississippi who could be plugged into Hawaii’s system and outperform Brennan, given the level of the competition.
Jackson State too. Some guy named Walter Payton played there.
Jerrt Rice–Miss Valley State. i hate that haka shit. you should see some of the people on the new orleans website forums post about hawaii and what great fans they brought along. we had nips in the wire if you ax me.
@10–my apologies. i meant we had zips in the wire down here.
Hawaii 45 Louisiana Tech 44(OT) Three weeks later, Ole Miss 24 Louisiana Tech 0. Nuff said.
Fuck georgia. overrated every year, like Va Tech of the SEC. jmo
@13
UGA came in preseason #13 this year and was expected to lose at least 4 games. UGA may finish in the top 5, which doesn’t really matter if you’re not #1, but overrated is a dumb statement.
Maybe UF was overrated in week 1 with their #6 ranking and got as high as #3. Meyer’s spread defense isn’t very good.
At least make an attempt comparing how UGA and VT are the same. How does each of them perform against top 25 teams? How do they compare in bowl games? What is their record in the past 5 seasons?
I don’t know who your “team” is, but “overrated” is usually used by folks who think their team is getting disrespected by the media. Like a 5 year-old saying, “that’s not fair!”
Anything that starts with “IMHO” or ends with “jmo” is usually indicative of a puke-burp in writing. Just bad and pointless and has no reason.

You’re still welcome, dickbag. Your miserable life would be more miserable had Hawaii won. Trust me. Now get back to hating UGA and say something witty.
Keep hating, LWS, and the Eers will keep winning. Love the hindsight “analysis” here.
I simulated the Eers next season on NCAA 08.. And they lost to Pitt again.. Go bone your sister on the burning couch.
