Epic Fail…0-9 is not an accident January 8, 2008

Full steam ahead!!! Give me another helmet sticker for fucking up!!!

You can’t spell “YOU SUCK” without “O-S-U.”

What more can I say that I have not already said. tOSU Failboats had no business being a BCS Bowl, and it really showed. The Failboats 0-9 Bowl Record versus the SEC is comedy.

What will the excuse be this year?  “if the punt…” or “if he had not dropped that pass…” or my soon to be favorite “if we didn’t have 5 personal foul penalties”.

It is hard to pick out the best parts of last night. Was it ESPN’s tOSU’s redemption angles from last year’s beatdown? Was it Corso trying to defend the Failboats schedule after the beatdown? Was it Herbie teetering on the precipice of an emotional meltdown? Or was it all of the Buckeye fans wearing OSU jerseys and the buckeye necklaces with the “Oh Shit here it comes again” facial expressions?

The anguish and pain were priceless, it does my heart good to see Buckeye fans the nation over weeping. Especially after all of the pre-game talk/hype, I just love seeing those Ohio Sate players and fans walk away disappointed.

Congrats to LSU!

The SEC is a trial-by-fire conference. They should be represented in the championship every year, and usually dominate when they are.

LSU, Florida, UGA, Auburn, Tennessee, What team wants to have ANY of these teams in their schedule? I bet that the Big 10 doesn’t.

Classic moment of tFailboat fans in the 2nd pic.

Those fuckers are used to being pwn3d now.

2. Jai Eugene - January 8, 2008

Here is an excuse that i have not thought of yet:

http://www.filteringcraig.com/2008/01/08/pat-forde-is-an-ignorant-hack-notes-on-ohio-state/

3. FilteringCraig - January 8, 2008

It wasn’t an excuse. Just stating the obvious. OSU would have saved themselves all this pain if WVU and Mizzou had taken care of their business. Instead everyone around the country pretends that Troy Smith, Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez were on this team again this season.

The Buckeyes were an underdog for a reason this year. They choked and didn’t show up aganst FLA last year, but this was supposed to be OSU’s rebuilding year. LSU was the better team. People forget that OSU was supposed to finish 3rd in the Big 11 behind Michigan and Wisconsin.

They actually overachieved this season, but that doesn’t help with the national perception.

4. artiger - January 8, 2008

@3 Uh, Hawaii just called, and would like you to do your next article on their behalf.

5. FilteringCraig - January 8, 2008

That doesn’t even make sense. Hawaii was undefeated and wanted consideration. Ohio State just sat there as everyone else handed it to them. Save that hate for WVU, Mizzou and the BCS.

6. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

Craig,
you are right on one thing, Ohio State had no business even playing in that game.

The SEC is clearly superior

7. LSU guy - January 8, 2008

Les Miles is a Fucking Genius. although i got upset when he all of a sudden turned conservative ball control midway thru the 4th quarter.

who will be the new d.c.? Tenuta of Gergia Tech?

8. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

@7 You can’t have The Orgeron. He’s going to Auburn.

9. artiger - January 8, 2008

Craig, the point was that you’re an apologist, so Hawaii needs a written hug too.

10. FilteringCraig - January 8, 2008

Not an apologist. I just don’t understand guys like Pat Forde pretending like anyone thought Ohio State was some ridiculous juggernaut this season. Last year was horrible and an embarrassment, but this is a completely different team.

11. LSU guy - January 8, 2008

what the fuck? the BCS game is barely over and the UGA whiners are already calling for change:

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3186232

i am open to a possible playoff, but why issue this statement now? i notice he did not address his team’s failure to win the SEC, much les the SEC Eastern Fucking Division. If he is so disgusted with this “beauty pagent” then who would decide who the 8 playoff teams should be?

last year, LSU was in a similar situation UGA was in this year. Two earlier losses, finished the season on a roll but did not win its division, went to Sugar Bowl and destroyed its opponent, yada yada yada. yet i do not recall as much belly aching from LSU fans that we should have been in the game.

12. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

@11,
I agree with you, you can’t be the mythical national champion if you can’t even win your own conference, but one of LSU’s losses last year was to UF, UGA never got a chance to play LSU. But that is UGA’s fault; they shouldn’t have lost early in the season.

Still lobbying for a 1-2 finish for LSU-UGA though.

13. LL - January 8, 2008

When they did that interview with JaMarcus Russell and Troy Smith on the sidelines, I kept thinking to myself - “Smith is about to get sacked again if they don’t wrap this up soon.”

14. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

Here is the final AP poll. How the hell does UF finish ahead of Auburn, when Auburn beat them in the swamp, won their bowl game, and finish with the same 9-4 record. WTF?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/01/08/ap.poll.ap/index.html

15. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

Auburn doesn’t have Tebow, that’s why

16. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

OH man, how could i have forgot about Lord Tebow? I am going to burn for sure.

17. LL - January 8, 2008

Auburn beat Florida on a last second FG and has 2 losses to unranked teams. Of UF’s losses, no team that beat them is ranked lower than 18th (Mich.).

Auburn is 2 spots behind them. Get over it.

18. LSU guy - January 8, 2008

@13. What the Fuck was JaMarcus wearing last night?? Was that some sort of dashiki or something?

19. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ LL

It doesn’t make sense for UF to be ranked ahead of Auburn. Auburn did not have a bad loss either. Yes it was a last second field goal that beat UF, but it was in the swamp (where no one but UF wins). I realize that the only place that counts is #1, but UF finishing ahead of AU after lossing to the team that lost to Appy ST is just fucking retarded. MEDIA BIAS.

20. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

@19
I remember the year Auburn beat State Penn’s ass in the Capital One Bowl. Final rankings… PSU #13, Auburn #14.

The shit is not supposed to make any sense. A top 15 finish is nice considering the beating taken from UGA and the upsets to USF and MSU.

21. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 20
Yes a top 15 finish is nice, but crap like that can cost us in recruiting against UF.

22. LL - January 8, 2008

LSU guy:
JaMarcus took the whole “Bill Cosby Sweater” thing and got vertical with it!

I know he’s from Mobile so I get the “Bama Boy” chain. But I don’t get the elephant. Is the elephant a representation of Crimson Tide or just Alabama natives in general?

23. LL - January 8, 2008

Jokers-
2 spots? I don’t think 2 spots is going to cost you in recruiting against UF. Maybe 5-10 spots, but just 2? I don’t see it.

24. Taco Bell Soft Tacos - January 8, 2008

@21 AU is getting The Orgeron. He will negate any recruiting setbacks. The man is a machine.

25. Sean - January 8, 2008

My only problem is that Miles and Urban have too much class OSU, in 2008 if OSU makes it agians whatever SEC is playing needs to borrow Spurrier for the 4th quarter, you know a real S.O.B. leet the visor coach Florida or UGA or LSU and drop 40 in the 4th so the Boucks can get the beating they so richly deserve.

26. Sean - January 8, 2008

Okay, I may still be a bit drunk.

27. artiger - January 8, 2008

Anyone notice that the AP had the Failboats one slot higher than West Vagina? Maybe word hasn’t reached the hills yet, with all the couches still smoldering.

28. LL - January 8, 2008

Yeah, UF had the ball inside the 10 last year but let time run out. I would have tacked on another TD to make it 49-14 just as a big - “EFF YOU!” - to all of the people, “experts” and OSU fans that doubted them and the SEC.

I was glad to see LSU score that one late TD last night to make it 38-17 at the time.

29. LL - January 8, 2008

@27:

The cloudy mixture of couch and meth lab smoke has the whole state in a haze.

30. zigzag - January 8, 2008

I really love that guy blaming West Virginia and Missouri for the pounding the Vests took from LSU. You get your sorry asses whipped but you just can’t leave it at that. You have to go through all sorts of gyrations to come up with some silly, lame ass excuse instead of just keeping your pie hole shut.

31. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

still waiting on AngryEer to pop in and say how lucky LSU was not to play West Vagina in the NC game.

32. AngryEer - January 8, 2008

@31 LSU could not counter BE speed and athletes. Thats a fact

33. AngryEer - January 8, 2008

Pat White would have ass-raped glen dorsey

34. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

Yes

35. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ angry
Some people here may not agree with what i am about to say, but I am glad WVU put a beating on OU. They have been one of the most overrated programs in the country for the last 5 years and i was glad to see them exposed.

36. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

So for that Eer’s, Thanks

37. artiger - January 8, 2008

I knew he’d pop his head up out of the smoke and fumes.

38. artiger - January 8, 2008

@32 Bad enough that you’re delusional about your team, but now you’re even dreaming that your conference is top tier.

39. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

Rivals.com 2008 Preseason Top 25: Jan. 8
1. USC (11-2)
Putting USC at the top is a safe pick because the Trojans annually win their conference, earn a BCS bid and play their best at the end of the season.
2. Georgia (11-2)
Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno will give the Bulldogs one of the nation’s top quarterback/tailback duos.
3. Ohio State (11-2)
The Buckeyes’ title hopes could depend on whether potential first-round picks Vernon Gholston, James Laurinaitis and Malcolm Jenkins stay in school.
4. Oklahoma (11-3)
Quarterback Sam Bradford will try to build on his outstanding freshman campaign while leading a team that could return as many as 17 starters.
5. Missouri (12-2)
The Tigers should return three 2007 Rivals.com All-America selections in quarterback Chase Daniel, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and free safety William Moore.
6. Florida (9-4)
You know that offense will rack up some points, but the Gators’ defense must get a whole lot better.
7. West Virginia (11-2)
The Mountaineers hope the expected returns of Pat White, Steve Slaton and Noel Devine on offense will compensate for heavy graduation losses on defense.
8. LSU (12-2)
The Tigers lose tons of talent on both sides of the ball, but they have plenty of former four- and five-star prospects ready to replace them.
9. Auburn (9-4)
Auburn’s biggest losses are on the sideline, as they must adjust to a new offense and find a replacement for departed defensive coordinator Will Muschamp.
10. Clemson (9-4)
With so much talent back on offense and defense, the Tigers can’t come up short in a big situation again. Can they?
11. Kansas (12-1)
The Jayhawks could be even stronger than they were this season. They’ll need to be better now that they no longer avoid Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech.
12. BYU (11-2)
If the Cougars beat Washington and UCLA in September, they might not lose all season.
13. Virginia Tech (11-3)
The Hokies’ hopes of contending for anything beyond an ACC title rest on whether cornerbacks Brandon Flowers and Victor Harris return to school.
14. Texas (10-3)
The Longhorns are banking on Will Muschamp’s arrival to boost a defense that struggled up until its bowl game this season.
15. Wisconsin (9-4)
The Badgers have a big question mark at quarterback, but they look solid just about everywhere else.
16. Illinois (9-4)
Rashard Mendenhall’s decision to enter the NFL Draft will make it tougher for the Illini to prove they’re not just a one-season wonder.
17. Texas Tech (9-4)
The Harrell-to-Crabtree combination will give Big 12 defensive coordinators plenty of sleepless nights next season.
18. Oregon (9-4)
The Sun Bowl proved how dangerous this team can be if it gets consistency from its quarterback, but the Ducks must go on the road to face USC, California, Arizona State and Oregon State.
19. Arizona State (10-3)
Rudy Carpenter returns to work behind a retooled line that has to do a better job of protecting him.
20. Penn State (9-4)
The last time Penn State had a quarterback as run-oriented as Daryll Clark, Michael Robinson led the Nittany Lions to an Orange Bowl title.
21. Tennessee (10-4)
Uncertainty at quarterback and offensive coordinator prevents us from ranking the Vols any higher.
22. USF (9-4)
The offense should be better than this season’s, but the Bulls will have a tough time replacing cornerbacks Mike Jenkins and Trae Williams.
23. Michigan (9-4)
The Wolverines could have some growing pains as they adjust to new coach Rich Rodriguez and his spread offense.
24. South Carolina (6-6)
This is a leap of faith considering how the Gamecocks ended 2007, but we’re guessing South Carolina should have one of the nation’s most improved teams.
25. Wake Forest (9-4)
Jim Grobe’s decision not to go to Arkansas assures that Wake Forest once again will have the coaching edge in just about every game it plays next fall.

40. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

Once again the Failboats are getting a Media Blow job. Preseason # 3 is ridiculous

41. LL - January 8, 2008

And just like last year, the ridiculously overrated Lauranaitis was missing in action. I’m so sick of the media pulling his jock for 2 years now.

42. artiger - January 8, 2008

@41 Yeah, the best move Vaginitis made last night was helping Hester get up after a short gain.

43. LITTLE EAST STILL SUCKS - January 8, 2008

Putting USC at the top is a safe pick because the Trojans annually win their conference, earn a BCS bid and play their best at the end of the season.

reads….(could be said same for Ohio State)

“…is a safe pick because they play in a bullshit conference, therfore earning a BS BCS bid….”

44. DowntownDawg - January 8, 2008

Kinda dick that Adams put the story out today.. Because they are right.. It’s LSU’s day and the SEC’s day..

But on the flip side.. I’m hoping next year these dark horse wanna be juggernaut teams like Hawaii and the Failboats stay at home.. OSU is a big school, with a half decent group of players.. They just suffer because of a shitty conference, but they suffer mostly because they aren’t as good as the other conferences..

It’s unfair to be in a fairytale world for weekend after weekend, only to wake up and realize you’ve been practicing with the Pop Warner teams of the league, and now you have to play the top teams.

Hopefully this will make the voters think harder next year when they go to argue the case for another team with a cupcake record that even too is blemished.

As far as end of season.. if UGA isn’t Top 3, I’ll shit my pants.. With the young talent they have, and a showing they made in a season that was to be a “build up” year.. There is an ass stomping to be had by, if they can maintain that tough as nails road schedule.

45. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 44

UGa finished # 2

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/01/08/ap.poll.ap/index

46. zigzag - January 8, 2008

@39 Rivals is on target with Georgia but I wouldn’t get too high on Stafford.

47. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 44

UGa finished # 3 in the coaches poll

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/polls/coaches/

48. LL - January 8, 2008

If Stafford grows Bama Bangs aka a “telluM”, he will be unstoppable next year.

49. LL - January 8, 2008

USC over Georgia? Didn’t USC only beat 3-4 teams with a winning record this year?

50. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 46

As an Auburn fan, the thing that scares me most about UGa is that they are just as young as Auburn, and they have spanked us the last 2 years. Hopefully next season we can turn it around with a little home cooking.

War Eagle

51. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ LL

USC #2 is based on the same logic that rivals used to rank them #1 next season. Who do you think wins between the failboats and USC next year?

52. jonkoncak - January 8, 2008

@11

This playoff talk is a “political” move my UGA president Mike Adams. You see, very few UGA fans like Adams. Check. No one likes Adams. He treated Dooley poorly and hired Jim Harrick a few years ago. Adams is one of the main players who wants to change the name of the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party to something else. Adams created an alcohol free tailgate area on campus for gameday. Needless to say, it was empty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7mhs2AJmLs

We don’t like Adams and he’s not fooling me with this. He put this out there to try to win favor with UGA fans. He couldn’t care less about a playoff. He just wants us to like him.

Yes, I want a playoff, but Adams can stick it.

53. LL - January 8, 2008

Jokers:
Good point. I think USC beats the Failboats next year. They’re just more talented and deeper.

54. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 53

I almost want the failboats to win.

55. jonkoncak - January 8, 2008

Yeah, it’s USC’s turn to beat OSU. USC is SEC-like. I really don’t see how OSU will lose in the regular season. Neither will WVU for that matter.

56. Jokers Wild - January 8, 2008

@ 55
WVU has to deal with Auburn next year. They are explosive on offense, but I think Auburn has a strong enough D to slow them down. WVU loses a lot on D this season, so I feel that gives Auburn a slight edge going into the game.

57. jonkoncak - January 8, 2008

I forgot about WVU getting beat down by the ‘barn next year.

Scratch WVU off the list.

58. artiger - January 8, 2008

Scratch WVU off the list???!!! Are you forgetting the 3-3-5 wall???!!! And those girl fans so hideous that the other opposing team goes blind with just one glance?

59. AngryEer - January 8, 2008

Matt Stafford is a fat fucker

60. Vol Dave - January 8, 2008

Loved Mark May’s response: “Stop Whining!”

Although ESPN has a reason to be upset with Mike Adam’s proposal, it would cost them some influence.

61. DowntownDawg - January 8, 2008

Fat doesn’t keep you from airing out teams.. He doesn’t need to run, he’s got plenty of other people who can do that just fine..

62. Jai Eugene - January 8, 2008

Dave ,

that chcik has some nice boobies, but a marginal helmet. Other than the WVU “poon”, we try to post only good looking tuna

63. jonkoncak - January 9, 2008

The last thing the Pac10, Big Teneleven, and the Big East and their supporters want to see is an 8-team playoff that could include 3 - 4 SEC teams. Considering that a playoff would yield nearly as many all-SEC championship games at the SECCG itself, they would not gain anything from a playoff. Only the SEC would benefit from a playoff.

Mark May is the whiniest asshat on television.

Mike Adams is trying to earn UGA fan respect. Hey, Adams, (in my best degeneration X pelvic thrust) SUCK IT!
