Both!

Univeristy of Arkansas Chancellor John White has announced his resignation for June 30th, 2008.

This resignation is the last in a long ine of Arkansas Staff Upheaval.

Damien Williams, Mitch Mustain, and Malzahn all left prompting White to make Broyles leave.

Arkansas basketball coach Stan Heath is told he will keep his job if they make the NCAA tournament.  They storm through the SEC tourney and lose in the final and then drop one to USC in the first round of the NCAA tourney and White still fires Heath.

White hires John Pelphrey

White hires Jeff Long

White pays millions of dollars to Houston Nutt to resign.

White lets Jeff Long go through about 4 coaches before finally stealing Bobby Petrino from the Atlanta Hawks and enduring the PR nightmare that followed.

I think I woud resign retire etc. after a year like that…. wouldn’t you?

Hawk, Falcons, Thrashers… They all use a gay ass bird as their mascot, and they all suck, so whats the real difference?

I’d have to say this one may be the best resignation yet for this program. With all due respect, the leadership up there has been living like it’s still the mid 1970’s for quite some time. I’m still not sure Broyles ever realized Arkansas was officially in the SEC, even though he pretty much orchestrated the move in the first place. Maybe senile dementia, or just plain memory loss. And White’s problem has been sheer ineptness. In any event, it appears that the program, like the surrounding Ozarks region, is ready to catch up to the present.
