Now I understand why Alabama wanted to hire Rich Rodriguez……This guy has a dark sinister side (he reminds me of the cyborg in Gainesville) that would have been a perfect match for the SEC.
According to multiple sources, several people in the Puskar Center reported seeing Rodriguez and at least one member of his inner circle, video coordinator Dusty Rutledge, in Rodriguez’s private office shredding paperwork on Dec. 18. That’s the day he returned to clean out his office after being introduced as the Michigan coach at a press conference in Ann Arbor the day before. At the time, those who say they witnessed it either did not know what was being destroyed or paid it little attention to it until the files were discovered missing more than two weeks later. [Link ]
Rich had some real shady folks the first 3 years, I was at WVU then, and saw them in action. I can’t speak to the current team, they seem like a good group of guys on TV. I wish the best for the school, but this is about to be a messy shit slinging contest that is going to take place in front of the nation both sides are going to come out looking bad.
As for the ethics of the situation, I want a good football team with a high majority of the kids, good or bad getting degrees, giving them a chance to move on in life. And for integrity in college athletics? I could care less, it is a novel concept from a time gone by long ago. I turn a blind eye as long as my beloved Eers continue to rack up the wins and degrees…..As for all you RR crucifiers, screw him he is gone, concerntrate on showing up for the spring game, replacing Slaton, and finding a new Offensive Coordinator.

There is no possible way to hide this. And I for one do not want it hid. This is pathetic. childish and destructive. This is malice, vindicitive type behavior from someone that was a role model and mentor for these young kids in the program. I hope this information gets screamed out in every valley and on every hill. This is the worst thing I have seen a a professional coach do in college athletics. He needs banned from the game. I hope every kid he recruited finds out what he is about. And I hope the kids he stole from us find out what kind of man he really is. hide it. no way.
Most disturbing, though, is the absence of all of the players’ personal files, which included, among other things, contact information, scholarship money awarded, class attendance records and records on personal conduct and community service, be it positive or negative.

We don’t have anything. All the good things these kids have done over the years, there’s nothing — not a picture of somebody speaking to a class, nothing. Why would somebody do that?’’
Funny how your opinion of RR changed in December. I don’t remember you posting such thorough investigative reporting prior to that–just delusional WVU propaganda and made up tradition, and of course, pictures from the local sale barn.

It would seem to me that the school’s athletic dept. and records office should have had a copy too. But then again, the athletic dept is the reason Rodriguez left in the first place, right???

All sorts of stuff has come out about him since he left; I’m sure that everyone knew it (and what kind of person he apparently is) when he was there (those north central ethnic West Virginians do all know each other), but as long as he was WVU’s Evil Genius, it was OK. Your still drunk from a meaningless bowl win almost 2 weeks ago? Either a super lightweight or not any other reason lightweight. Oh yeah I am pretty sure the SEC won 7 of their bowl games, and no one is still drunk from it.
Face it the SEC proved that they are the top confrence in college football. Top to bottom, side to side, inside outside. It does not matter how you look at it.
