When C-USA Players attack

Received this email this morning:

I was at the UAB memphis game tonight and a memphis player punched a uab fan as he left the arena. the kid is pressing charges and you should be hearing about this in a few days. don’t know for sure but i heard it was dorsey but people backed off on him being the one that punched the uab fan. im sure it doesn’t matter anyway because coach cal will probably get him off the hook.

Yeah right, there is like no chance at all that Joey Dorsey was involved in this fracas [please beat my ass Dorsey].

I found this YouTube that shows the Memphis Coaches restraining a player. I fear for the safety of my beloved Vols when they enter Memphis Thunderdome this week.

  1. FedEx Forum: 2 teams enter, 1 team leaves….

  2. I watched it last night – hell of a game. The replays didn’t show any punches thrown, only people retraining Dorsey. You’d have to be pretty stupid to start something with him, being he’s 6’9″ and weighs 265.

The Vols haven’t been playing well on the road and that doesn’t bode well next week. Hopefully enough of us Vol homers will be there to take the edge off the pro-Memphis crowd.

Thanks for the hook-up BTW – got you listed at my site.

  3. This ESPN.com post showed up on their web site at 9:15 P M CT:
    IMPERFECT
“And then there were none: No. 1 Memphis is unbeaten no longer, UAB on the back of sharp shooter Robert Vaiden, knocked off the lone unbeaten team in Division 1 on Saturday night.”

I don’t know why Dorsey was involved, he did not bother to show up, scoring zero points and getting two rebounds. Memphis showed tremendous heart against a team that played an almost perfect game shooting 50% from the field, 90% from the foul line and 42% beyond the arc.
The Vols can beat them if Lofton and Smith have five or six threes apiece. Those teams that have been close all had good three point games.

  4. You stay classy, Memphis State.

  5. Maybe Dorsey thought he was at Plush nightclub on Beale St. You know, the Tigers seem to find a fight there…

  6. Or he had scored some Steroids….

  7. @3 But of course, both teams will be absolutely fugly at the free throw line…

  8. He definitely scored something beside points.

  9. Meh, not a punch, but somebody did slap the guy. No excuse but kind of expected when people are throwing thing at a team in an environment like that.

    .

  10. I just read a report where some UAB fans were tossing debris at him. What, I don’t know. Apparently there isn’t going to be any suspensions handed down.

ESPN is so full of hacks they’ve forgotten what their purpose is. That purpose is to report the news, not be the news.
